- Ditto to Julie / lymeinhell. Statins can cause a whole lot of trouble.
A cardiologist details some of the risks here: ------------------------
. . . The FDA warning spoke about myopathy, which is the most common side effect of statin drugs but its only the tip of the iceberg. Statin drugs can also cause flu-like symptoms and generalized soreness.
Left unchecked, patients can go into full-blown statin myopathy which can lead to kidney failure and even death.
Other side effects of statins include liver dysfunction with elevation of the liver enzymes; problems of the nervous system, including a condition called peripheral neuropathy, which doctors call polyneuropathy; and total global amnesia.
Plus, if LDL cholesterol levels get too low, they can interfere with neurotransmitter mechanisms in the brain. . . .

I heard a local cardiologist speak at a dinner and he was telling all these cardiac patients (most over 75 yrs old) that they should have cholesterol around 130 or less.
He was praising the statins. I thought.. What a total idiot!! Glad he's not MY doctor!
He probably freaked out all these old people and made them question their own doctors.
There is NO need for cholesterol to be THAT low. My internal med doctor says it can get too low. I agree.

- Heavy metals and other environmental toxins can affect the heart - and the whole body.
You might want to call and then just go over for an information meeting with these folks. They have had an excellent reputation for many years.
They do not treat lyme but have helped many who have lyme.
Recently, one of the MD presenters at the Toronto ILADS conference detailed how they helped her overcome major health issues.
They are right there, in your twin city. An introductory meeting (different from an appointment) - with someone from patient services - should be free.

Do you all recall the 'Slip and Slide'? Big plastic sheet you hook the hose to, and then you hop on and slide down on your butt?
And do you then recall hopping on when there wasn't quite enough water on it? Your butt would stick to the plastic and you'd get rug burn.
That's what have cholesterol too low is like.
Cholesterol is the lube that helps take all the junk out of your bloodstream and through the liver and kidneys to flush it out. Just like the slip and slide and your butt, without enough lube there, the garbage just sticks.
I have a family member that listens to this statin garbage, and they have his cholesterol down to 130. The man is in his 40's, acts like he's in his 70's and might as well be an alzheimers patient. He has no energy and his memory is out the window. I've pleaded and begged, to no avail.
