i noticed when my doc put me on cipro for diverticulitis, it caused severe exhaustion. i could barely get out of bed yet alone walk. and the depression -- man....
i'm not the most cheerful squirrel in the tree, but this was mind numbing depression.
so what causes exhaustion and depression with these drugs? are they hitting something?
anybody get this when taking certain drugs?

I have this on minocycline. As time(8 months)goes on I am having a hard time saying it is a herx.
I am totally exhausted in the afternoon. I can't do any physical exertion without becoming non-functional. If I go off the mino my energy comes back but so do my original lyme symptoms (TMJ)

I am very sensitive to meds. but all the abx I have tried do me the same as you described. One of Cipro's side effects is anxiety/depression..
I have chosen not to take abx maybe not a wise choice but have tried many over a few years and the side effects are worse than the lyme.. No, mine isn't herx.. there is a difference. I can take the herx but not the side effects of abx.
Next month I am going to talk to my doctor to see where to go from here.. The only one I haven't tried is Omnceif .. So discouraged with meds because I know I need them..
Good luck.
