I started Rocephin on April 5th, and around the 10th started a major herx reaction.
About a week after that, I got an incredibly painful sore throat (no thrush). That continued for over a week, then, suddenly moved south a bit and now I have a less sore throat (deeper down), and rather achy and irritated-feeling upper chest.
Yesterday I almost totally lost my voice and had some phlegm, but not much.
I very rarely have chest issues from a cold, so I'm not familiar with this. Are these symptoms for one of the tick-borne infections? Its going on 3 weeks of this.
Thanks in advance.

I know around here there is an upper respiratory thing going around and I caught it as well. Started with a sore throat, then progressed to a full blown cold, settling in my chest. I needed to utilize my nebulizer to try and get through and eventually needed to be placed on an abx for a sinus infection. Everyone at work was sick as well. I think you most likely caught a virus or cold.

This was interesting. On Wednesday night (after first full dose of malerone) I got horribly sick (vomiting and 103 fever) - but the next day the sore throat and chest issues (and most knee pain) were gone!
However after a couple of blissful days without them, the sore throat and chest issues, etc. are returning... I guess I just have to ride it out and see what happens.
