I have a fairly new symptoms which is that I often feel like something is crawling on my head or under the skin on my scalp. It started about 4 weeks ago and doesn't happen daily, but often enough. I am trying to remember if that is a symptom of Lyme or any of the co-infections.
I am positive for various Lyme bands, babesia, and ehrlichia, but I have not found this symptom listed for any of these.

Creepy-crawlies are common with Lyme, also with Morgellon's. I have had a few mild, isolated episodes. My sister has major creepy-crawlies and she is IGENEX pos. I personally know other Lyme patients with this symptom. I believe the sensations are due to nerve-damage from Lyme.

The sensations are due to PARASITES!! Parasites/worms can play a MAJOR part in Lyme disease and is often an overlooked co-infection of Lyme. Burgdorfer found Filarial Worms in the ticks he dissected and as an ASIDE found spirochetes.
Check out www.lymephotos.com After 4 yrs of abx and still very sick I found this site here on Lymenet. I started antiparasitic herbs and salt/c and after 6 mos.
EVERYTHING pictured came out of me. Study and research everything you can about parasites and google parasite symptoms. One mos of antiparasitic is never enough.
It can take several yrs of persistent tx with antiparasitics to get rid of parasites, eggs and larva. I am convinced from my own experience that this could be why some people with Lyme are chronically ill.

2doggies,when I started treatment for babesia, I also developed these symptoms. (I never tested positive for babesia and I feel like I didn't really have the common symptoms that go along with it)- but since starting treatment, I am now sweating again (I had literally stopped sweating at all for months), and feel many things happening in my head.
I have been on mepron with omnicef and biaxin since June. The bug crawling sensations have diminished in frequency but I do feel them a bit every day.
Not sure what is causing them, but my tinnitus also changes frequently during the course of the day. Sometimes, it literally sounds like a colony of bugs in there!
Gael, I know it could be parasites, but I am working with a very good LLNP who promises to address that with me after we take care of heavy metal chelation. Perhaps that is playing a part in all of this as well.
I am taking Byron White AL complex, which includes some anti-parasitics like black walnut and wormsweed. Perhaps this is helping as well.

I am 100% with Gael on this one. Treating for babs helped, but once I started working on parasites (which babs is by the way), the crawling and tingling greatly diminished. In fact, the crawling sensation for me is gone. I think parasites love the head (it's where they hide). I suspect abx helps kill some of them too. Maybe many years of abx does it (dunno).
Newbies, listen to glm1111 (Gael). She knows so much about parasites, it isn't funny. I made the mistake of ignoring her posts when I first got on this board. I thought her posts were unusual (I'm sorry Gael). Wrong!! She knows what she's talking about.
I would be much further along now if I had listened to her. Think about how shocked all of us were to discover this world of chronic lyme. I was in denial about it. But then it eventually sank in.
Parasites are in first world countries too. They are all over the world (part of nature). It's just that docs here are so arrogant, they are slow to recognize this. And we've all been brain washed to think we have the most modern medicine in the world (not). Our so called conventional western medicine is incredibly antiquated.
It took the surgeon general 50 years before he said, uh, yeah, um, cigarettes do cause cancer. Sorry, but this is western medicine folks--slow to get it. We are so fortunate that Gael is persistent. Thank you Gael. You help so many of us.

dbpei, I'm on A-L and can tell you it barely scratches the surface of parasites (but A-L does other stuff too). There is a heavy metal connection to parasites. If you do a search on this blog, you can find some interesting stuff.

Thank you sooooo much for the support Catgirl. I have had other people respond in a similar manner, thinking I was out in left field with the parasite issue until they finally paid attention and started to turn the corner going after parasites with either antiparasitic herbs, antiparasitic pharmas such as Ivermectin or both.
I feel if just one or two people pay attention to this that are chroniclly ill, then my persistence, and looking like a nut about this issue, is well worth it.
Thanks Again,
Gael

So I've noticed an increase in the tingling sensation lately. the way I would describe it is like when your hand or leg falls asleep (except it is my head) but it comes and goes almost in waves. Is this similar to what others feel?

I have had this recently, but it was all over and moved around, drove me nuts, no rash just itchy prickly sensations. I agree with paulieinct that it may be parasthesia or neuropathy from lyme. mine is flared b/c i am on iv rocephin. hot baths help, so do lots of supps and lemon lime with glut and alkaseltzer gold.

Yes, I have long had the creepy crawlies in my face and scalp.Prickly, crawling, etching, drawing, numb, you name it.
Gael has suggested parasites but I'm at a bit of a loss as my docs have not supported this and I am ramming so much down my throat I don't know where to start. I have lyme and babesia positive and clinical bart.

Yeast can be a problem for sure, however it's much easier to get rid of when you get rid of parasites. A good program would be antiparasitics and antifungals at the same time.
