So I had a question how can I tell teh difference between herxing and C-diff.
I get diaherra from time to time sometimes it lasts a few days or a week. This is part of a herx for me but I always worry that it is C-diff.
How can I tell the difference besides getting tested..
Thanks!

With C. diff, there is fever (mine was 101.5), chills and shaking, abdominal pain, usually mucous, and perhaps blood.
If it is C. diff, it won't stop on its own. It will go on and on. I went to the doctor on the 9th day of diarrhea.
Mine woke me up throughout the night to run to the bathroom. I had at least 9 bowel movements per day. With C. diff, it can be 20 bowel movements per day.

C. diff has a foul odor (after awhile anyway).
I did not have a fever with C. diff (at least not much anyway). I did have abdominal cramps and felt pretty awful.
If you've had diarrhea for almost a week I'd probably get tested for it.
Best, Timaca

I had a very mild case, no fever etc. Best to get tested.
