So yes, tis the season. I cannot recall the last time I had the flu, but I got it now. Or at least I think that is what it is.
I was out on the trails over the past couple of weeks and now have the flu. So driving myself nuts with.."Did I get bitten or did I get the flu"? I know not many ticks out this time of year but still..I was out there.
I am on an Abx.s break due to high liver e.'s and stool testing so how can I tell if my "flu" is lyme related or just your run of the mill kick my butt to bed flu?
Also, can the flu flare up lyme symptoms? My guess would be yes.

Ticks are out all 12 months of the year. It's possible you could have erlichia, or you could have the flu being that it's so widespread this time of year. Another tick bite can flare up lyme symptoms for sure (not sure about the flu).

Thank you.
I am suppose to go back on abx.s in a couple of days anyway so in case it was a new bite I will be covered.
Even going out in nature in the winter leads to anxiety!

Influenza is a respiratory infection.
Symptoms are: Very high fever (mine was 104 F) Severe dry cough Severe headache and body aches Severe fatigue
As influenza is caused by a virus, take elderberry extract, which has studies to back up its antiviral effects. The drugstore should have several brands, including liquid and lozenges.
I took Tylenol for the fever and pain, although I don't think it did much for the intense headache. It was awful, there were times I simply could not get out of bed. I can see why inflenza kill people.
