I am just going nuts with hayfever allergies this spring.

I have tried EVERY OTC allergy pill out there-a non drowsy during the day, and double Benedryl at night.

My eyes are swollen bloodshot and itchy.
My nose is so itchy it bleeds every time I blow it or sneeze. Can't breathe through it. Used steroid nasal spray today out of desperation.

Lungs inflamed from pollen. Needed to use inhaler.

Please, what has helped you with seasonal allergies?

Any home remedies that work?

I am desperate.

I use otc yellow allergy pills, st ay in ac or hepa filtered air, get house air clean and keep it cean-doors and windows shut

Wear glasses that curve to your face to keep pollen out, civer hair when out and take hat off before coming back in or put it in plasic bag or just wupe down hair and facewhen you cime in

Tane otsude later if clothes off as soon as you are in and do the same-cover so pollen doesnt spread around

Cold rag on eyes helps. Sometimes u cant go out without medical type mask

Once i had an attack while druving onbusy highway. I really couldnt see and had to pull over but had nothing with me to relieve sx so i am very careful now. Tht was really scarey

Hope you get a handle on it

The only thing that works for me is Pseudo-ephedrine. You can get it at Walgreen's pharmacy. No Rx needed, but they keep it behind the counter, and you can only get it once every 2 weeks.

It's called Wal Phed sinus/allergy 48 tabs.

I do well with Allergra, Mucinex and Pantanse.

Sometimes have to take Sudafed but only when things are really bad.

Today I had to take all four.

High dose vitamin C is a natural antihistamine and has helped me a lot with my allergies and asthma. Since you are already on salt/c, maybe it's time to raise the dose.

A diarrhea dieoff from it is beneficial to cleanse toxins and dying parasites out of the lower colon. Allergies is on the symptom list for parasites.

Thanks so much for the suggestions everyone.

My ticker doesn't handle pseudoepedrine very well, so I will try some but a small dose to be sure I don't get a panicy heart thing going on.

I'll try to increase vitamins C [Smile]

Surprises me how much I can take and still don't get the runs from it. My body must need it [Smile]

Will try the essential oils in water-it sounds tasty [Smile]

Today I took benedryl, aerius and followed lps suggestion of closing windows and doors and just using AC. Does seem to be better today.

I greatly appreciate eveyrones suggestions.

Greta, what works for me is Claritin every day of my life! It doesn't work if I just take it when I'm bad. When I am bad inspite of taking Claritin... I take an additional 1/4 to half of Zyrtec at night.

Good luck.. It's been a brutal spring. We're still wiping up green powder off our window sills and it's almost July.

Wow. Relief!!!

Allergies, my understanding, are the immune system thinking pollen is Public Enemy #1 and releasing a histamine army to fight the pollen.

So I programmed my zapper (similar to rife), and ran these:

Hypersensitivity, Type III: 0.02, 0.30, 0.85, 7.50, 32.50, 240.28, 346.00, 628.00, 833.70, 925.68

This is the fourth night I am running these frequencies.

I have not used allergy meds in three days, and have only sneezed once!

I put the positive red strap on my left foot, and the negative black strap on my right foot, and then I go to bed, while the zapper runs the sweeps of each frequency.

The first two nights, my body woke me up when it had enough, and I turned the zapper off, and removed the foot straps.

Last night, I slept with them on almost 7 hours, so it would have ran seven full sets of the frequencies with rest periods in between.

Had some mild encephalitis today. Pretty sure this was a herx from having the zapper on too long.

Anyways, I am so pleased for some allergy relief! Wow! I posted this on the rife thread and a zapper thread. I am so stoked that something is working!

That's wonderful, Greta!

For others reading this who may wish to try these frequencies on a Rife machine, the frequencies listed are in KHz, so if your machine uses Hz, multiply each frequency listed above by 1000 to get Hz.

Example:

0.02 KHz x 1000 = 20 Hz

Greta so very sorry you're so miserable lately. I too have allergies. And it's real bad after a good hard rain. Then the next day the wind blows and I stay inside. And doors and windows shut.

Your funny too. I loved it when you said. Yes nettle tea. You had some. Some where around here. It made me smile. I know we all pretty much have tried everything.

And saying ya it's around here someplace or somewhere.
Thanks for the smile. Everything I have is around here some where! [loco] [loco] Crazy is normal.

hi Gretta, have you tried homeopathics? I can't read all above, so sorry if it is repeat. HEEL makes really good stuff and most homeopathic allergy stuff has helped me for years.

I used to get shots every week for decades, but had to stop because no more indsurance. Diet and homeopathcs really helped. I no longer get bad symptoms of allergies and I am so mu healthier I think.

of course lyme & co made them worse so when I started treatments last year fo all those my allergies got way better even more.

a suggestion i haven't seen here that i think is hugely helpful is making sure your bed pillow(s)

is covered during the day by the bedspread or put in a closet so the pollen doesn't settle on it during the

day and then you end up with your face in it all night.... Also, if you are really struggling it

might help to use a clean case each night.

I have an IQ Air Purifier that really eliminates dust very well. You can program it to come on and clean your room when you're not home so you can crank it up high without being bothered by the noise.

I like to peruse Allergybuyersclub.com to get ideas.

Avoid dairy as it adds to mucus production.

I haven't seen anyone mention the Neti Pot. If I feel any sinus congestion coming on I use the Neti pot asap. It's not as helpful if you're all stuffed up but if you use it early the salt water reduces inflammation and allows your sinuses to keep draining. I use it in the shower and have found regular use around sinus trouble time keeps me from getting congested.

Pseudo-ephedrine helps me, too.

Greta, strange thing is I get heart palpitations if I take the little round red pills that are regular release, BUT if I take the 12-hour extended release it doesn't make me jumpy or give me palpitations.

Also-- not allergies since I started doing nasal rinses every morning with

CVS saline/bicarbinate packets
1/2 teaspoon xylitol crystals
2-3 drops of baby shampoo.

It has really done the trick for fighting off the infections that were making me so allergy prone. And it washes out the allergens.

I also use a dehumidifier because we live in DC and it is too humid... ripe for mold.
