Hi All,

I came across in many threads using glutathione for detox and brain fog etc.

Do we need any testing before taking glutathione or any one can take?

Does it need prescription or get it over the counter?

Could you please suggest the good brand for glutathione and usage?

Thanks and Regards,

Glutathione in supplements really doesnt work well. Your body has to produce glutathione and to do that you need to get the right building blocks. Milk products, sulfurous foods, vitamin c etc. If your insistant on a supplement, the one most people go to is Jarrow Reduced Glutathione. 500 once a day. You dont need a prescription, you can buy it at any health store or on amazon. Its only marginally effective IMHO.

Of the more affordable offerings, I quite like Healthy Origins' Setria L-glutathione reduced. Neurobiologix also do a transdermal product with a pump action and you rub one pump's worth directly over the liver (this one is more expensive).

It took me a while - and some bucks - to find out pills never worked for me. Nor one of the creams I used years ago.

ukcarry's got some suggestions that are more recent so do look at those.

Yet, there are other more functional ways to go about it. Help the liver and the liver will help you.

Milk Thistle is one of the best things to help the liver make its own glutathione. Other liver supports below, too, such as Dandelion. These have many benefits, too.

Often, this will work just fine and is much more affordable & practical than IV glutathione (which can be used & does work in a true emergency when warranted, particularly with serious herx or acetaminophen poisoning).

Also be sure to avoid acetaminophen as that blocks glutathione not just in the liver but in all the body's cells. More about that here:

LIVER & KIDNEY SUPPORT & and several HERXHEIMER support links, too.

Coffee enemas and NAC both stimulate the production of glutathione. Very effective.

What is NAC? Is it a supplement or we get this from certain foods?

josh123,

NAC is the popular abbreviation for N-Acetyl-Cysteine. It is an amino acid and can be found in the supplement section of health for stores, the label will say NAC.

If you do a search on it you'll find a lot of good info.

I suffer from liver problems since lyme back a decade ago.

During lyme, I took regularly milk thistle and it did help me. Very easy to take, easy to find, not too expensive. I think everyone profits from milk thistle. So that's herb number one.

MSM is an organic sufur compound, and it has binding properties, one of the strongest cleansers for the liver, body that I bumped into. If you are sulfur intolerant, you won't be able to take it. But if you aren't, it's very helpful.

The liver is stuck due to lyme toxins and food / environmental toxins. ONe way to help it function is to tap a certain acupuncture meridian. This is dr. K's recommendation: under the arm, side of the body, exactly at nipple height. Both right and left sides are good. Tap about a minute or two, and feel what it does.

I did tap point for about a decade now, because I felt it always helped my liver.

I think chlorella also helps to detox, not only the liver though, but many organs. I took chlorella even 6 times a day during the time lyme was active. Now I only take it about 3 times a week or so.

It was my magic herb. I don't think I would get rid of lyme without chlorella.

After lyme was gone, I still fought chronic candida on and off. Candida toxins are very poisonous to the liver, like Borrelia toxins. So I got my liver clogged again, pain, high liver enzymes etc.

I guess, my liver was chronically ill by then. Too many years of poisoning, age was rising, a Korean naturopath could immediately see in my pulse (by TCM analysis) that the worst organ of my body was my liver.

He said I was a 'liver person', meaning, I had to solve that problem if I wanted to be healthy again.

He recommended me coffee, no sugar, 3x day, nothing added except for SALT!! Bits of salt, he said. I took that, but it did give me loose stools.

That was about 7-8 years ago and I never stopped coffee. Now I take it without salt though... [Big Grin]

Well, about 3 years ago, I was still feeling my liver was not great. Someone lent me a Violet Ray (a high voltage device, similar to Rife in a way but much weaker), and I used it on my liver and whole body.

There was an IMMENSE release of toxins. It was huge. It took me months to get used to the device, but everytime I used it, my liver kept making noises, like fluids were put in movement.

I felt a GREAT relief in that area of the liver as I hadn't felt since lyme many years before that.

Since then, I bought my own device (a 25 dollar device...) and used it daily for about a year. Second year, I used it less. Now I use it sometimes, like once a week or even less.

Since I used it first time, I don't feel my liver is in bad shape anymore. I think high magnetism helps to relax the organs internally, and you feel like the liver is doing a flush on its own. You actually can hear the fluids moving, and if you do in the GI tract, you'll see the whole GI tract moving on its own.

So now, my main treatment for the liver is the violet ray.

Recently, I found Vital Force Technology products, and I also swear by their liver product.

Since I started on it, I don't use my violet ray as often as before.

An aunt of mine is fighting liver cancer basically with this Liver formula and winning.

She was already a sort of lost case. Liver cancer is difficult to heal, and it is the 3rd place she had cancer so far, so it means, there was not much hope for her...

Her oncologist can barely believe, as all chemio + radio was not working anymore.

Believe me, I'm suffering from my liver for more than 10 years. Only now I think I found some peace! [Wink]

HOW TO RAISE GLUTATHIONE LEVELS:

Very short and nice article!

It explains almost everything people here wrote to you! NAC, alpha lipoic acid, IV glutathione, cofactors such as Vit C etc...

I took only the info on MSM below:

------------------------------
MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) - this naturally occurring compound is a donor of organic sulfur, a non-metal mineral present in all our cells and essential to life.

Most of the sulfur in human bodies is in the form of sulfur-containing amino acids cysteine and methionine;

however, MSM acts as a source of additional sulfur for numerous processes in the body and plays an important role in sulfur metabolism.

Sulfur is needed for manufacturing of alpha-lipoic acid and vitamin B1, both are important glutathione cofactors.

MSM has been shown to promote the synthesis of glutathione and to upregulate the activity of glutathione enzymes in the presence of elevated oxidative stress in animal studies.

One human trial showed considerably higher plasma glutathione levels in MSM supplemented group after strenuous exercise.

You're welcome Josh.

I hope your liver will feel better.

I googled and found the product of VFT for the liver.

This site seems to sell LOADS of products for lyme disease too!!

I supplement with lipisomsl glutathione. Yes, it's expensive, and no, I don't really know how much is actually absorbed by my gut. I use this brand:

http://www.essentialgsh.com/index.html#What_is_BioGlute_Complex

I also did an IV treatment of Glutathione and PC oil, it's known as the PK protocol and there are doctors across the country:
trained in it.

http://www.pkprotocol.com

I have also heard of some people taking precursors to glutathione to aid the body in making it.

"Immunocal' is one such brand. Interested if anyone goes this route, what brands do you use?

Brussels, what brand/form of chlorella were you taking? I tried it myself recently but didn't really feel anything while taking it.
