Hi everyone-

I have been having very bad dry mouth. And I am wondering if its lichen plaus.

I dont have any white patches or lacey rash.

I have chapped corners of my lips. Red checks...red tongue and red gums. I am wondering if its irriation or Lichen planus.

All kinds of infections can affect the mouth, including lyme. Many with lyme have mouth woes.

Nutrient deficiencies need to be considered.

Many Rx (especially sleep and mood drugs) can cause dry mouth - and that can lead to major dental disease over time. Best to avoid any drug that causes dry mouth, if possible.

What helps me with dry mouth and lots of aphthous ulcers:

Sea Buckthorn Oil - best price at Mountain Rose Herbs out of Oregon

Seed-A-Dent but that is no longer being made. A similar product may be Nutribiotic Citracidal DROPS - for brushing gums.

AVOID commercial toothpastes with SLS. Avoid all dyes and additives, too.

Avoid acidic foods or drinks - or be sure to rinse and swish afterward and wait 30 minutes before brushing. More suggestions here:

Auromere Ayurvedic Dental Care

Their Mouthwash is excellent help and rather mild, compared to commercial "burn agents" as I call them. Dilute if too strong. I put in a little dropper bottle for ease.

Wow. Interesting, Keebler... I'll have to take a look later.

Sometimes, I feel like the bacteria changes in m mouth. I'm not sure what causes it. There are studies going on into the human biome. It's not the answer to your original question but there are probably alot of things that can cause these kind of mouth problems.

I got that mouth corner irritation recently, too. It may be a vitamin deficiency? Some people here suggested it may be vit. B related. I don't know for sure. I used to think it was related to vit. A.

Just noticed film on tongue ,not white like thrush but pusy (sp) looking, plus a crack on tongue.

I read were the crack could be low foliate, but I'm on Deplin...

Really wish I could get this scrapped and tested/ viewed by eye's and see what they find ..
Mean while it is very uncomfortable.

I really suffered with dry mouth until I got to a great lyme doctor who gave me good lyme treatment. Then, it went away.
