My LLMD says it is due to the Lyme interfereing with my bodies ability to regulate it. I take Accupril (hypertensive medication) when it creeps over 145/90. They only warning I get that this is happeneingis lots of headaches. Watch it carefully- mine flucuates and is now normal without medication for now. But it was normal as well for few months two years ago and then crept up to 150/100 on me and I was back on meds for a year and half before it came back down naturally. I have also had occasional bout of very low pressure (usually when I am sick) and that can make you feel really dizzy.
Watch your sodium intake!
Now take 5 mg Norvasc , 6 milligrams of Coreg in morning, and then 9 milligrams of Coreg at night. Had to cut back a bit due to the heat, but my doctor really taught me how to recognize high/vs low symptoms. e-mail me if you need any help!
Look into the relationship. Calcium too...as it intially is increased...more histamine...more deposits in arteries...
If a bug likes Mg...we're in big trouble.
He said, you can't get any more normal than this about my numbers. I told him I knew that, for I never have had a problem with it before.
I am 52 have had LD for years and until I started taking Paxil in the year 2000 was extremely fit and in great shape, especially for a woman my age.
and the doctor got alarmed at my bp which was 175/98. Of course, I know now that was the start of my lyme. With treatment for the bp and the lyme it has come back down to normal numbers. I have heard others say lyme affected their bp, too.
My blood pressure went from 120/70 to 220/110. Kept trying to pass out and had violent tachycardia. Horrible. I now stay on blood pressure meds all the time. I did go on a very strict vegan diet which helped.
I then had to take the buyout from my job in January 1995 because I was so sick.
Make sure the ones that have heart issues get tested for the anti-cardio lipid antibody. This is an autoimmune reaction to lyme and I have it. I take a baby aspirin a day for this. Your platelets stick together and can cause strokes, blood clots etc.
Take care of your selves.
look for TINCUP's post on newbie sites....full of great info on all subjects!
I've always been normal on BP, but dx 2 months ago w/late stage lyme finally after 34 years.
Put on benecar, 20 mg/day, 1 month ago. I bought one of those automatic BP monitors. Tried stethoscope w/out any luck....I needed another hand to manage that & still couldn't.
