I just recently went back to work and my herxes come with a vengance! My question is that on the posts I have been reading I see many of you are on different herbal therapies and other than acidophylis (sp?), I'm on all "drugs" nothing natural other than vitamin C...I'd like to start.
Can someone please, so to speak, break it down for me on what's good and what works for what...blah I'm rambling again.
healing wishes to all...

So sorry you have had two strokes and have Lyme/Erlich...and ended up in the duck motel.
I hope you will be feeling better soon.
Hang in there.
Here is my favorite Tea Recipe, by our wonderful Tincup! I hope it works as good for you as it does for me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tincup's Tea Recipe
Mix a batch of herb tea (not as strong as pills and extracts). Mix one recipe
one day, the other recipe the next time, and alternate between the two. Then
add the liquid extracts listed below.
Recipe 1
Use the following tea bags:
4 green tea bags (decaf)- antioxidant, detoxifiers, blood cleansers, energy
booster. Contains chlorophyll, minerals, and enzymes.
2 organic peppermint- stomach settling, enhances digestion,. Use for chills,
cholic, diarrhea, headaches, nausea, spasms, and poor appetite.
2 Dandelion- reduces swelling and fluid buildup. Cleans blood and liver and
used as a diuretic. Reduces serum cholesterol and uric acid. Improves
kidney, pancreas, spleen and stomach functions. Useful for abscesses, boils,
breast tumors, and hepatitis.
2 Red Clover - good for weakened immune systems. Acts as a natural
antibiotic, blood purifier, and relaxant. Good for skin diseases, liver
disorders, and kidney problems.
2 Pau d'arco- contains a natural antibacterial agent. It cleanses the blood
and is good for candidasis and all types of infection.
Recipe 2
2 Red raspberry leaf- Relaxes uterine and intestinal spasms. Promotes
healthy nails, bones, teeth, and skin. Decreases menstrual bleeding.
kidney, pancreas, spleen and stomach functions. Useful for abscesses, boils,
breast tumors, and hepatitis.
Directions:
Boil a few cups of water. Remove from heat. Add tea bags from one of the
above recipes and let steep about 10 minutes. Remove tea bags and cool.
Add fresh water to make one gallon. Add 3-4 packs sweet and low, or sugar/
sweetener, honey, natural sweeteners, to taste.
Add:
5 drops (Herbs Etc.) whole seed Milk Thistle extract and
5 drops (Innovative Natural Products) Liquid Germanium
Drink as warm tea or on ice. You should drink the gallon of herbal tea
within 2 days and keep the unused portion refrigerated.
MILK THISTLE- Contains some of the most potent liver protecting
substances known. Acts as an anti-oxidant to protect the liver, stimulates the
production of new liver cells and prevents the formation of damaging
leukotrienes. Assists in protecting the kidneys, good for adrenal disorders
and inflammatory bowel disorders.
GERMANIUM- Improves cellular oxygenation. Documented study shows
improvement for rheumatoid arthritis, food allergies, elevated cholesterol,
candidiasis, and chronic viral infections.
Beverly...I will definately do some herbal shopping for those teas...I have a good feeling about them. If anyone knows their teas it's tincup
Lymegirl, I'm so sorry you were diagnosed so late with all this...how ae you feeling? I wish I knew of an herbalist in my area but I can't find any and the ones I do find aren't the real deal if you know what I mean. I need to be careful on what I take because I have an extremely sensitive stomach...as many of you probably do too. My LLMD caters plenty to holistics but she is well over two hours away and it's hard to make it there every two months...forget trying to make it there more often. The trip alone is like one big herx.
Dave, I think I found the tea you are talking about...herxing now, I hope it works...thanks!
healing thoughts and prayers to all of you and yours...
Talk to your doctor about checking into hypercoagulation(thick blood)I'm not posting this about detox--but about your two strokes!!!
Usually A ISAC panel is ran
ISAC: Immune system activation of coagulation
Chronic illness can trigger increased blood viscosity due to the generation of soluble fibrin Monomer(SFM) resulting in pathogen-mediated immune activation that induces antibodies which cross react with EC protective porteins B2GPI & Annexin V. These antibodies dislodge the protective proteins from the EC surfaces, exposing PhosphatidylSerine(PS) on the EC surfaces in capillary beds.
Pathogens induce infammatory responses which include cytokine modulation of EC to down regulate the antithrombotic expression of tissue factor (TF). TF and PS exposure allows biding of the coagulation tenese and prothrombinase complexes to EC surfaces.
This results in thrombin generation leading to SFM formation. SFM formation dimerizes easily, increasing blood viscosity and precipitating local ischemia and pathology, blocking nutrient and oxygen delivery in the microcirculation. A herditary defect in a coagulation regulatory protein, such as protein C (Very Common), protein S, Factor VL( gene RO6Q mutation) prothrombin gene mutation, PAI-1, Liproprotein A, or elevated homocysteine(MethylfolateMTHFR-C677T) mutation) is predispositional in greater than 75% of patients.
Because this hypercoagulability doesn't result in a immediate thrombosis(100% occlusion), but rather in fibrin deposition (50-95%) it is suggested that the appropriate name for this antiphospholipid antibody process would be immune syytem activation of coagulation syndrome(ISAC)
APC resistance( also called activated protein C)--due to chronic inflammation(illness), is something that you can search on the web-also
There are genetic factors that can be involved here(as noted above)--but let's not get that far ahead of ourshelves---check out the apc resistance first--if that shows up--then they will test further
also a we site about coagulation topics and chronic illness: www.hemex.com
I have *lived* this disorder--mine is a gentic link Factor V Leiden mutation, and a methylfolate conversion disorder( I do not correctly convert my methyl donors)--so I'm familiar with this situation
GOOD LUCK--others will come along and share with you their ideas
