I have a question.
A French Lymie used Methyl prednisolane (together with Rocephin by IV). It gave her the feeling in her legs back.
Today Nic had a little accident with his car because he couldn't move his foot fast enough from the gas to the brake. (Nobody gets hurt). So maybe this can help him aswell.
So my question to you is: is there somebody else who has experience with this stuff or some other kind of Cortisone?
At the moment Nic takes 500mg Zithro in the morning, 200mg Doxy afternoon and 300mg Doxy late in the evening (an hour before he goes to sleep) and about 400mg Magnesium a day. He thinks he is herxing in his legs (on/off on Doxy and Mg every 4 or 5 weeks). His upperbody is getting stronger, but his legs still get weaker.
I hope you can give me some advice,
Greetings from Holland,

It never was so dark, or it will be light again.
Check with a LLMD to determine the best outcome. Have you discussed NSaids? (Non steroidal anti inflammatorie drugss?)
Thanks for your advice (doctor or no doctor). That possibility was where I was affraid for (steroid's problems) and why I'm asking this first on the internet. We don't have LLMD's over here (Yeh, next month for one day) and Nic's doctor doesn't know anything about it accept from what we tell her. But I shall ask if NSAIDS will be helpful for him and if so if his doctor can describe this for him.

Some Ducks Rx steroids without
fully knowing the ramifications to Lymies.
Burrascano gives a warning about steroids in the guidelines. You might want to read it first.
Would you know if this French lymie also had back problems? If so, that is probably what the MP helped, not the lyme.
I ruptured a disk in my lumbar spine last year and it cut off feeling in some of the nerves from my waist down. I was given a methyl prednisolone tapered dose pack to get the swelling down to try to save my eliminative functions until I could have surgery (accident was Friday; surgery was the following Wednesday). I was also put on "massive doses of" steroids according to the doc in the hospital the night before the surgery.
I was switched from my lyme abx temporarily to one that fought "hospital germs". Long story short, my lyme relapsed almost to the point it was when I first became ill. It took about 6 months to get back to the point where I had been with lyme treatment.
The MP did help with the inflammation and helping me get feeling back in my legs, but the reason I didn't have feeling in my legs was from my back, not from lyme.
So please think this through carefully and get more information on that person who had the MP treatment.
Good luck,
Sue
Thank you all for your replies. Today Nic tried a NSAIDS painkiller to handle the herx. It didn't help a lot, but maybe when he uses some more of it, it will help him (and not the LD like sterods seems to do).
He will bring his car to the garage to get a hand-brake as well. Today he found and tried out how to use his hand to left his foot.

Thanks for your reply.
Nic get this injection about ones in two weeks. His B-12 level is also checked (together with liver and kidneys and Mg-level). And it was all normal. So he doesn't seems to have a B-12 deficiency. But still thanks.
We are allmost sure that it is just another herx.
