My son tested positive for candida albicans (most likely from long-term low dosage antibiotic use for acne over the last 4 yrs.) and was prescribed Oregacyn P73 (an extract of wild oregano). He has been on probiotics since March when we got a + Lyme diagnosis but the candida was probably present long before that. Do you think that this is enough (4 caps/ 2X daily) to cure this or should he be on a drug like diflucan, nizocal, ketoconazole etc. in addition? At this point, I don't know if his symptoms are from Lyme or Candida!

Thanks for any input,
Marian

Which test was used? By your MD?

Jordan's LLMD ordered a blood test for candida (while testing for iron and some other things). He has been on the Oregacyn for several weeks and I don't see any change at all. I've been reading about a product called ThreeLac and also Candex. The restrictive diet will not really be possible as he's hopefully going to college this summer. At this point he's not going anywhere because he's just not well enough. Any thoughts?
Thanks!
