Sort of scary. Wondering if I just can't handle the stuff.
Good luck!
Bri,
Take it easy! Go slowly. See your doctor about extending time interval between doses, increasing incrementally, but slowly.
If you are taking any herbs like gingko,or other medicines, prescribed, or OTC, that increase circulation in the brain, these will increase the doxycycline-induced pressure in the head(increased intracranial pressure), send you back to the E.R., stroke, or o/w do "night-night."
Good Luck,

Will keep you posted
I just wanted to say that i have been taking 400mg of doxy for almost 4 weeks.
The only problems i have had is that i tend to have nausea in the mornings. So i try to eat a little something and i drink a lot of water before i take it.
Good luck,
Jordan

On the sunscreen issue, you may want to get a sunscreen that meets Austrialian Standards. Their standards are much higher than ours. I recommend blue lizard. You can get it at

So far my only problem is nausea that wakes me in the middle of the night, even though I eat last thing at night with my meds. And, am also experiencing stomach aches during the day.
DLL
After the morning dose started making me nausious I started eating a little something 30 minutes before each dose. This helped tremendously.
But, avoid eating anything with magnesium, calcium or aluminum for 2-3 hours before and after Doxy.
Do Not Lay down for 30 minutes to and hour after a dose of Doxy.
Also, eating often and just before bedtime seemed to help reduce my stomach problems.
Experiment and keep good daily records to find what works best for you.
Good Luck,
Dave
Bri,
I think you mentioned colloidal silver, if I'm not mistaken. As this is a mineral, and the tetracycline class of antibiotics bind metals(minerals), it may be wise to hold off on the silver until after the doxycycline regimen? E.g.: Oral doxy to blood stream, then one does either oral or sublingual colloidal silver which goes to blood stream ==> tetracycline class of abx snatching the silver thereby rendering both useless, perhaps? Who knows? Rhet. Quest.
