just started biaxin to go with mepron i was takin with zith. started today and a red mouth sore popped up in mouth a few hours later. doc not in but pharmasist says its rare but sores have been reported in post market surveys as an allergic reaction. anyone have the same? not sure if i should take next dose...

Yes, I have experienced that while taking Biaxin two years ago for a strep throat. I did take the medicine for the full time prescribed, but my mouth and seemingly throat was very irritated with sores.
At the end of the treatment,I did go back to m internist because I thought I might have monilia (I have had that before while taking a sulfa drug). He said that it was not yeast nor an allergic reaction, but a reaction caused by the antibiotic.
It probably is best to contact your doctor asap to determine what to do next.
As a result, my LLMD and I decided that he would prescribe Zithromax instead. There is no sense in looking for trouble or suffering needlessly.
