It is a common symptom and was one of my first.

I'm still waiting for it to resolve.

Physical Therapy has helped some and kept it from getting much worse.

Right now, my ankles are the worst.

Weakness in my right leg has been the symptom I cannot seem to get rid of. It started in 1995 (although infected in 1988), but I did not get any treatment till 1997.

Mathias is right, PT will help.

The only advice I have is to stay on the abx.

Yes, I have muscle weakness in my legs... So bad I can bearly walk. Some days I use a cane. That helps alot.

It seems right before treatment it's worse, then BAM on abx it is MUCH worse!!!! Sometimes I am bedridden.

I just finished treatment which would have been longer if I hadn't started having seizures and icthing spells(my llmd thinks I am allergic to the abx)

I'd still be on it, anyway I felt awful. Now that I'm off I feel GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!! I know I have to go on another rx soon

But my legs don't hurt right now. When they did I used a heating pad and wrapped it around my legs tight

and took 800mg of ibproghen and a muscle relaxer. It worked for a while. My body told me when I needed to rest! I DO NOT FIGHT when my body gives

it only causes more pain!!! Rest and relaxing is the best therapy for me on those bad days.

Can you email your llmd? I can, and I do ALL the time! If something isn't right she's the first to know!!!(besides everone here )

It only takes her 2 days to get back to me. I love that. Anyway hope this helps

Jamie

Hi,

Please read the reply I just posted on SKYKING'S "Magnesium Poll.

In a nutshell..............Bb feeds on magnesium taking it from anywhere in the body and depleting the body. Please SEARCH for Marnie's Post on Magnesium. She is a genius.

This magnesium deficiency causes symptoms such as muscle pain and spasms that will not be relieved by any pain killers that we have tried.

The IM magnesium with oral magnesium malate, sub lingual B6 and Calicum............ lure the Bb out of cyst form to feed, thus the antibiotic can kill them!!!!!!!! The secret is to get Bb to come out of the cyst form to that you will not be reinfected by a relapse at a later date.

The IM shots have brought great reief to sever cramping to many within a 3 week time frame, with a increase in energy levels as a bonus!!!!!!!!

The entire protocol is spelled out in the above mentioned post by AUNTYBIOTIC to the Magnesium Poll. Please read Marnie's many posts. She is known as Magnesium Marnie due to her vast knowledge and years of research. You may find them by using the search prompt at the top of the page.

The cost of IM Magnesium, 2cc weeekly for a four week supply was only $7.00 without health insurance.

Once again, if it were not for Marnie, many would still be in pain. THANKS!!!!!!!!!

Good luck.

aunty

Cathy,

My leg cramps and other leg symptoms (tingling, burning, weakness....) started a few weeks after I started abx. Until then all the pain was in my arms.

I told my doc about the wierd sensations in the right leg and he ordered an MRI. They found I have a bulging lumbar disc.

Just started PT on Friday and will be continuing. I'll keep you posted.

Just keep your LLMD aware of all symptoms, especially new ones. Also, keep a journal, at least every few days, noting symptoms, frequency, severity and if anything triggered the symptom.

Are you able to do any stretching? I found light yoga helpful in relieving some of the discomfort.

Keep us posted on your progress.
