and has anyone ever tried this treatment just using this only?

and if you did had there been any success.

Hi Debbie,

I'm sorry you are herxing bad right now....have you tried detoxing some? Maybe that would help?

The herxing with Babesia can be bad. Are you taking Zithromax with the Mepron?

I have not taken Artemisinin or Mepron. ...yet, so I don't know how it will work for me. I am taking Zithromax and Plaquenil which is helping me somewhat.

Here is a previous discussion about Babesia, maybe it will help some.

I hope you will be feeling better soon.

Hi,

I asked my LLMD the same question last week, he said that Artemisinin is not enough and will only make the Babs resistant.

He said Babs MUST be treated with 2 drugs at once.

Hopefully, I am starting Mepron very soon.

i have an llmd. he often says "i don't know" i respect that because there are many things no one really knows about this disease. i could not take mepron. my blood sugar went to 20 when i took it. i lived like that for a week-but only got up to eat and go to bathroom. horrible. i believe i got rid of babs with artemesia. all my symptoms went away after 10 years!!! no herx. just got better. no side effects at all. i KNOW you must get a good artemesia tho. i use the one my doc recommended because it works for me. it's easy to throw money away on supplements that are poor quality or not absorbed. you can order 'MY' artemesia if you want. i will post address if anyone is interested. it's cheap too...in comparison to the other supps i need.

I used Art for 4 months and it didn't do squat. Mepron was the only thing that made a dent in my Babs. Art may work synergistically w/other abx but it didn't for me.

In my opinion, the answer to your question is "yes", provided it is good artemsinin (not artemesia) and properly dosed.

Just wanted to say that
1. Stopping meds for a week doesn't seem to be a big problem in the overall picture -- our doc had us do that the first 2 months on mepron zith art, then go at it without a break. I did a liver and colon detox on my week off, and felt a little better by the time I restarted. (I'm taking the Allergy Research artemisinin)
2. Dunno about art alone -- I think it's a classic "it depends"; and part of what it depends on is probably where you are with the other coinfections. Art has been very effective for me, but I'm still doing mepron zith bicillin.
3. The more I read about glutathione, the more impressed I am with it; I don't think it was a bad move to quit meds and just do glut for a week.

The mepron herx was pretty painful and unrelenting for me for the first 3 months -- I'm so sorry you're going through it for so long. After the third month, things got a lot better for me, and a little better for the hubster. Hope it goes the same for you (the lot better part!)
