I was diagnosed with Lyme back in 2001 and treated for a little over a year for some weird neurological symptoms (lightheadedness, numbness, fatigue) on Mepron, Zithromax, and Biaxin at different times. I've recently been tested & re-diagnosed with the disease. I've forgetten a lot about what it was like back then, and I've never been on Minocycline before, so I was wondering if anyone could offer any words. I've been feeling really numb/floaty... if anyone can relate. I'm going into my second year of college, and it's starting to feel pretty strong.

I took Mino and didn't really have any side F/X if that's what you're asking. At first it can cause dizziness but it wears off. I think I've heard that in high doses it can cause a drug induced lupus that goes away when you stop using it.? I'm not sure about that but I've heard that. Other than that it's good stuff.

Hi toaster i was just on that antibiotic from march 30th until may 20th. i took myself off of it because i just was getting worse and have been out of work since april 9th. i have had lyme/post lyme for almost 10 years and its has caused many problems over the past several years. i find that exercise at least 4 times a week, no matter how moderate, helps. i was out of work in 1995 for two years and was forced back because my husband left me. i was not ready but had to go because i had a daughter to support. since then its been a battle. ups and downs. this is my third time out on disability with symptoms. i have tested negative the past few times so i recently went trough a battery of tests to make sure nothing else was going on. i even had a spinal tap - which i dont advise unless its necessary. all was negative. it looks like i am suffering from post lyme. i was very ill and misdiagnosed for over a year before i even saw anyone. however, i dont know if i believe i should be on drugs if i test negative. i know the huge debate between the doctors and i am going to my gp today to discuss all results and what i can do to get back to work - if i can. still have daughter at home and cannot survive on disability - plus its a fight to get the peanuts they offer u anyway. all i can say is that if u tested positive, stay on it and try to exercise, rest, and try taking plant oil with fish oil, multivitamin, that seemed to help me alot when i was very ill and tested positive. unfortunately, or fortunately, however u want to look at it, i am testing negative so i am now in the gray area of "what the heck is wrong with me?" w/b if u want. my email is [email protected]. hang in there - i know its tough
