Interesting!
I get terrible "tennis elbow" pain in my right elbow. But just when I am ready to go see a doc about it, it goes away. Then it returns a couple of weeks later.
Haven't found anything med wise that helps. Keeping one of those tennis elbow bands just below the elbow helps a little.

Tabbytamer,I use one of those elbow bands and you are right! It helps a little. It seems the more I use it, the worse it gets! Maybe a sling would help but that seems so restricting! Thanks, Phil

Interesting...I had that problem for about three months, then it went away. I would think one of those new "icy-hot" wraps would help. Hope you find relief soon, I know it hurts a lot worse than the name implies

Looking back, way back, that was one of my very first symptoms. Huge, elbow, and I mean huge about the size of my fist it was.
The doctor wrapped it in one of those stretchy wraps and it finally went away. But, the doctor did give me antibiotics. Guess that may have had sometime to do with it.
You'll find that further into treatment, you will have symptoms go away and others occur as you herx and start getting better.

Before being diagnosed with Lyme I was a competetive amateur golfer (0 handicap).
I had medial and lateral epicondilitus in both elbows at different points in time over the years. I tried anti-inflammatories, ice, heat, rest, and elbow bands.
The only relief I got was cortisone injections at the site of inflammation.
I'm pretty sure I had Lyme during these years but it was not really chronic. I just seemed to have flares once a year or so.
My pain was so bad that the pain from the injections actually felt good.
I have read/learned that cortisone is not good for Lyme patients. I discussed this with my LLMD just recently to help rehab a chronic hamstring injury. He thinks that the amount of cortisone used for these purposes is OK.
I chose the cortisone injections as a last resort.

Isn't cortisone as steriod? WEll, if it is, then run like the wind the other way...steriods and Lyme do NOT mix. Any steriod injections will set you back BIGTIME, if you have Lyme Disease.
