can fever on the three antibiotics be a herx. my liver enzymes are normal. I am being treated for babesia. i also have body aches, chills then overheated, back and forth, severe nausea, body pains. has anyone had this as a herx. i have been on this combo for 10 days. my doctor says that he is not sure.i am 18

I"ve had all the other symptoms you mentoned when i herx on those meds..but usually just low grade fevers from babs...
high grade fevers could be a sign of erlichliosis..have you been tested for that coinfection yet?
rare to have high fevers with babs...but not impossible.

When several infections are interacting. it's hard to tell what's causing what symptoms. I felt the highest fevers were probably from ehrlichiosis, since doxy seemed to get these pretty quick. But there are many other potential factors involved. Babesia can definitely cause high fevers, too. And in fact, lyme can actually inhibit the body's fever-producing responce. I did get fevers from "herx" reactions sometimes, but not from the babesia meds. DaveS

As always if a high fever lasts to long call you doc. I herxed the worst on mepron / zith combo. I think I herxed for 3 weeks straight at one point. Headaches and fevers of 101. It was kinda wierd since my temp was always real low 96.5-97.1 ... Herxes can mess up your fever response, or trigger it. If you feel like total junk, I would think its a herx. Babesia was worse for me than either the lyme or the bartonella, as far as symptoms go.. It took me 8 months of mepron and zith and about six months of artemesia to get rid of it.
