Is anyone else on Carnitor for fatigue? If so have you had any side-effects? I read the product insert and it talks about seisures and fishy body odor. Both of those turned me off. Hte fatigue is bad but seisures are much worse. I guess I just need a few reasuring words if anyone has any to offer.

Thanks,
rhpress

Levocarnitine Oral

Active Ingredients: Levocarnitine Oral
Representative Names: Carnitor Oral, L-Carnitine
Available Product Images:

Who is this for?

Also known as L-carnitine, this is a naturally occurring amino acid derivative required by the body in energy metabolism and for proper use of fats. This medication is used as a dietary supplement to treat carnitine deficiency. It may also be used in persons with abnormal plasma lipoprotein patterns.

I never heard of it until now.

Hi rhpress,

I took a prescription of Carnitor for a month. I am very sensitive to all kinds of stuff so I started out taking just one twice a day. Then on 3rd day I upped to 2 tablets 2x/day. Then on 4th day 3 tablets 3x/day.

I had no side effects, no ill effects, and no noticeable effects. In other words, I couldn't tell any difference. However, this was at the very beginning right after my diagnosis.

I personally think that I had more results taking magnesium & sublingual vitamin B. But I did take the whole months worth of Carnitor (prescribed by my LLMD) and had no problems.

Greg,
Thanks for the laugh. I loved the scary dinosaur bit. To answer treepatrols question my LLMD said my levels were low and that I need to be on Carnitor to bring them up. i had never heard of it before either. But she said it would help with the fatigue. I'm just worried about the side effects. i don't need seisures on top of everthing else.

Thanks,
rhpress

Hi,

I was on Carnitor for a few months. I had no side effects, and basically no effects at all. It didn't help my fatigue.

Mark
