Im curious what this could be. I think its part of a herx.
I get these feelings under my skin. They do not itch, and it is not a rash. It just feels like something is moving. I wouldnt even say its a throb kind of sensation.
Sometimes it will pulsate, but usually its just a very quick feeling. Sometimes, it will last a minute. Its usually on my legs and feet.
Does anyone know what this sounds like?
I have an image of bugs dying. I kinda like it because it makes me feel like my ABX are working.
Has anyone felt something similar? Its very odd.
Thanks,
Jordan

Jordan- I've talked to you before; we have a lot of similar symptoms. I have EXACTLY the same thing. Sometimes I want to look at my skin to see if there are worms crawling underneath. And it's in my legs and feet. You're not alone, my friend.... Sarah

I've had that all over my body especially in my calves and feet. I can see and feel them. you can get this in restless leg syndrome (benign) and benign fasiculation syndrom or due to Lyme.

what you are describing is neuropathy. your brain is sending the wrong signals.
this could lead to tingling, chills, heat rushes, etc. once my brain felt like it was burning (maybe it was). thank goodness it only lasted a couple of days.
all this means is the disease is still active in the cns.
these symptoms always act up on me when i start a new abx treatment.

Thanks to everyone for responding to my question. Sorry, i didnt reply to each of you, but my lymenet is not working right.
I never had these sensations before my ABX treatment.
They are so strange and wanted to hear about others who may be feeling the same things.

I get this too and was so used to it that I stopped looking to see if something was crawling on me.
Well last time I was outside deadheading flowers I freaked when I saw a big old hairy spider crawling on me and screamed.
I am really not afraid of stuff like that but it was a shock to see the spider was the cause and it was not the crawlies. So I do look to make sure when outside now.

I can't tell you how glad I am to hear that someone else has this! I was recently diagnosed (last week) - but have had that sensation on the inside of my left ankle for a few days now. It was making me crazy- if I was outside I was convinced it was either a bug, mosquito or blade of grass was touching me! It's gone away now - I think the doxycycline is working.

Jordan,
Been there done that. Got a T shirt.
When I first felt those creepy feelings in my feet and knee, I felt like things were crawling in me too. It is almost like the twilight zone or something.
I guess it is like others have said, the ABX must be working.
I am new at this myself. We just have to hang in there. It is easy to say but hard to do sometimes.
We will get through this.
Take care.

This was one of the most disheartening of my symptoms. I got it late, 15 years post infection. It didn't correlate with abx usage, but it did seem to hit during a major stresser, a family death. I still have it and take Neurontin to dull it down. During its worst, I had moving, snapping, crawling, stinging, itching, humming, even buzzing sensations on my face, chin, upper arms, calves, and soles of my feet. Nothing showed up on my EMG. Occasionally my ankles will twitch noticably (people ask me what that is).

Jordon, I too have this feeling. I am constantly looking down at my legs to see what is crawling on me. I have had this for a very long time. Mine is not going away. Sometimes I feel like these bugs are biting me as well. I hate the feeling I just want to take a shower to wash them all off. Nancy

Laurie and Nancy,
Thanks for sharing your experiences.
I have had the feeling in my right wrist for about 4 days now.
I wonder if it will stop with the lyme is gone or when i quit my ABX?
I dont mind it thankd G-d.
Take care,
Jordan

Correlate these symptoms with scabies, sometimes you have no rash at all if your not allergic to them, don't rule this out, a simple cream can eliminate them, and there are even non-RX things that work too.
