Hope you are all doing well and kicking keet butt. I was off doxy for about six-weeks and started going downhill so I'm now trying mino, on the 7th day now. This stuff certainly packs a punch! I'm started at 100mg/day and I'm now on 150mg... my doc would like me to go to 200mg but I'm a bit scared to go any higher! At the moment I have a dull all-over headache, I call it 'septic head', I feel groggy and confused and tired. I also have a nice aching neck and pains running down my back. I don't think I ever really herxed at all on the doxy... how do I know whether it's a herx or whether it's just a reaction to the drug itself? Anyone else care to share their insights with this drug?
Take care,
Colin.

There is a side effect called "pseudotumor cerebri" which can become very serious. Strong headache is a warning signal.
The groggyness, confusion and tiredness sounds more like a herx to me, though.
Take care.

So far (not to jinx it or anything) I have not herxed, but have seen one of my worst neurological Lyme relapses in some time gradually disappear, after I'd thrown omnicef, zithromax, plaquenil, and flagyl at it with no change.
If you do a search on this subject, especially for posts by TX Lyme Mom, Chainsaw Joe and Lymebrat, you will see that this abx has helped a lot of people who were dealing with "hopeless cases" that had gone on for decades. Many are not here anymore.
