Thanks, Carol
Good possibilty he does.
I am convinced that it is transmitted sexually, and that one partner can give it to another.
I just wrote the thread entitled Holy Cow, My Fiance Has It Too, and considering the timing of when I got it and he got it, sexual transmission is the only reasonable explanation.
Plus, I've seen several other posts since I"ve been on this board (it's been a month) by people wondering the same thing...and the answer from the 'authorities' is NO, and from personal experience...could be.
We need to be very aware of this, it's a serious health concern. Could we be re-infecting eachother? Could our different strains be mating and producing abx-tolerant baby strains?
If it's possible that we are making our partners sick and vice versa, everyone needs to be aware and take precautions.
Me being sick and possibly losing my income is bad. My fiance on top of that turns this from a minor crisis to a very major one.
My heart goes out to you, it sounds like you've had a rough time and it may yet get harder. It will be over though someday, and you'll look back at this and be amazed at the strength you showed and the hard choices you made.
I had my husband tested while he was home on leave. The test show several positive Lyme bands. Also, he has symptoms. We did a CBC at the same time and everything on that test was A+. Soooooo, not sure what we are going to do with him.
As I feel sure he has it too. I do not want to be reinfected after so many abx.
There is really no telling if I gave it to him....or if he had it already.
Also something strange is that his mom had Rocky Moutain Spotted Fever before she had 4 children. (did she rid herself of it or not?)
She is actually thinking of being tested, much to my surprise. His oldest sister has "fibro".
I am certain it can be transmitted through sex, it only makes sense.
