Iam very allergic to pencillian and family member of that drug.I can not use.
I have been treat twice before... once with IV rocephan for 3 weeks.
Again 2years later with the same drug.
It has not worked for me .I have had lyme for 6 plus years .
It effects me nero ways and joints (knees being the worst!)
Erythromycin is a member of the same family but does not cover as broad a spectrum. Some have used it with measured success.
These are not penicillan related so therefore your allergy will not play a part in this.
Also many use amoxicillan They'll give a couple of low doses to see if you have an allergy. Almost no one does.

Whereas I for example am doing well with Zithromax, I know other fellow lymies in Europe who had no success with it. Some are doing well with Ketek - others say it is not doing anything for them.
