Do any of you have any experience with the Marshall Protocol? It uses Benicar (a blood pressure drug)to counter the inflammatory response in Lyme, CFS, FM. and sarcoidosis.

There are MANY that used to post here that are doing VeRY well on this protocol.

Some have tweeked it to be Benicar and other antibiotics.

Most of those that have done on this just don't post here any more..
This is one of those hot button topics...two sides DEEPLY divided!!!
Some have failed on this protocol also...but...there isn't one protocol out there that can answer all the illnesses we suffer from.

I believe that the succes rate on this Benicar Protocol will eventually be outrageously high...currently I am awaiting some personal issues to be cleared up before I go on it.

But...you'll get alot of answers on this ...if not
www.marshallprotocol.com

(I highly recommend it.)

This protocol is cutting edge..and therefore is questioned at is every turn on efficacy, usefulness, effectiveness, and possible dangers...however, I personally know MANY people that have NEVER been on Lymenet..and MOST of them (95%) are MUCH improved if not back to normal.

But...someone will come along and poo-poo this tremendous break through in Lyme Care.

Tried to get to this web site but it came up as "page not found". Can you assist? I would be interested in this and perhaps trying a different treatment plan. May work for me?

Thanks so much. Not sure why I couldn't get to it the first time. Hope you do well. I'm taking to my next MD visit. Thanks goodness he is LD friendly. I'm also going to inquire about rife as well. Have read several threads here about it.

Trout,

Why is it controversial?

As I understand it - and granted, I might not understand it totally - the MP works similarly to other combo platters of medications for Lyme. The lowered vitamin D + benicar regime acts as a cyst-buster, and the minocycline is the antibiotic that sweeps up the rest, not unlike taking ketek etc with abx.

I have potassium deficiency and extremely low (almost dangerously low) blood pressure, so I feel the Benicar regimen would be too dangerous for me. But if some folks have found that it works for them, more power to 'em!

I'm NOT on the MP.

My LLMD just started me last month on benecar 20 mg day...half am/pm plus 2 antibotics...biaxin & doxycycline.

Benicar makes me dizzy. He said to take it at night & jump into bed...boy, was he right. I take my 2nd dosage around 7 am & go back to bed until 11-noon!
