I have had problems with my hair for some time. I usually have silky straight hair. That has always been weaker than others, but what has been going on the last few months is much worse.
It is broken all over, so much so you can see all the broken strands on my head, it is corse and thinning. At one point it reminded me of rats nest at times, and this is someone that usually has straight silky hair, not a curly hair on my head.
anyone ever see improvement?

My hair has just been fallin out, its always been coarse n dry though. you have had your thyroids checked im sure, damn with this disease everything mimics everything, its always hard to tell whats goin on, but it usually all leads back to lyme eventually.

Your thyroid might be out of whack. This is common with lyme.

I really do think my thyroid is out of whack and have mentioned it to physicans for a year now, and I am checked regularly and it shows fine on the tests.
I know it is not fine though, because 2 years ago I went on kelp cause I suspected it was low and I was right, but then it went to high and I had to go off.
Ever since then they check it and it's fine by their standards.
Have asked for hormone panel to be done, but doesn't think necessary and also have parathyroids checked too. Have asked 3 different doctors to see hormone specialist but they say no, cause nothing showing up in tests.
New multi I have, has trace amounts of iodine, so this should be helping.
I should do the under arm test to check my thyroid again, I keep forgetting about this.
When I was on the kelp my hair looked great for awhile and was thicker then ever, but then thyroid went too high so this is dangerous to do, and won't do it again.
I really hate looking so bad these days, look like I am aging at an acclerated pace.

Very typical Lyme symptom-- My hair started falling out before I even felt bad at all. Now with treatment it seems the hair thinning has slowed but its really hard to be sure. Ive been assured over and over, you wont go bald..

YOu could be deficient in a few vitamins/minerals and if not the thyroid causing this problem, that is honestly where I would look next.
I had this symptom for years. I was found to be SEVERELY deficient in zinc, VItamin C, and recently magnesium and B12. Oddly, I dont think I ever had my VItamin K checked- I believe that has alot to do with hair, but so does zinc.

Maybe that part of it, as I am low in zinc, have been taking a good multi 6-9 a day, by garden of life, and they seem to be helping with my colour, even though it is still falling out too much, it has seemed to slow down, but can't afford to lose anymore, and my hair is fine.
