Since starting Rifampin a few weeks back I've noticed every old injury I've had is flared up and coming back?

Is this a side effect or does this sound like a herx?

I'm very frustrated and hurt like crazy...welcome to the lyme club right? Sorry had to throw in some humor.

Any thoughts anyone?

Sounds herxy to me.

I spent 8 months on Rifampin, and the first few months were ROUGH!! New aches and pains and fun new symptoms (like heart palpitations, sinus congestion, the runs) and hideous neck and jaw pain for me.

Up your water intake (serious big-time) and increase your dosage of Milk Thistle to help detox.

Warm baths in Epsom Salts might help the pain move around a bit.

If it gets too bad, call your LLMD and ask if you can back off for a couple days until you feel better.

Hi
Dr B said some people can go downhill on Rifampin whilst it helps others tremendously and there is no telling which way it will go.

I stopped it after 10 days as it was making me very run down & didn't seem like a herx.

Just my experience on it..I know others who think it helped a lot.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for the information. The aches and pains are no fun and I'm increasing water a bunch and still no difference.

Emma I'm with you on this one. Recently I feel like I've gone down hill since starting rifampin and think I'll call my LLMD about this tomorrow.
