I was diagosed with Lyme 2 1/2 years ago and have a good percentage of the symptoms on Burrascano's list. I have had two western Blot's a year apart, both highly positive. I have been treated for a total of 268 days with various abx with some breaks for what I thought were herxes.

I have had a steadily worsening tremor as my worst symptom that affected almost my whole body and is almost disabling. It is pretty much constant and varies in intensity from moderate to severe at times. It's about to drive me insane. I also have a lot of motor skills, coordination, and muscle tension, pain and weakness. Has anyone had these types of problems, how severe are they, how long have you had them and what has helped?

I'm really about at the end of my rope and don't know where to turn. The abx haven't seemed to have helped although I may try IM bicillin soon. For now I've taken a break from abx and am just taking high daily doses of Pharmax garlic extract and magnesium malate and large doses of hope. Thank you all!

farmboy sorry you are still dealing w/ symptoms.
I have tremors in varying degrees of intensity.
Things I have found that helps:
1. Patterned exercise-
a. walking, even slowly , but for a distance, leave out stairs and hills, just even pace with arm swings. conscious inhaling and exhaling with your walking too
b. swimming- I started over 10 yrs ago. I'd walk a length and swim a length. crawl stroke is good. It took me 4 year to get to breathing on alternate sides w/o dizziness
c. gentle yoga, especailly exercises that cross midline
d. cross-crawl exercises- a rythmic patterm of alterately touching the opposite side of your body

2. hydration- lots and lot of water

3. epsom salts baths- I also like rosemary and green tea baths

4. suppliments-for me EPA/DHA is esential, as well as vit b's, Ca, Mg, CoQ10 8 wks ago I started Myers IV push- a huge help fo tremors, spasms and fatigue

5. Neurofascial Processing- can get info via "The Body Wisdom" book ....www.centerimt.com

That's all I can think of right now
good luck

Farmboy,
Considering how much suffering this is causing you, you might want to try going on injectable magnesium sulfate. It can be given IV at the doctor's office and IM at home. Dr. B. has noted that severly depleted Lymies often cannot absorb oral magnesium. B12 might also help. Both are harmless. Oh, Bicillin is great stuff. Why wait?

Farmboy I wasn't sure my password would work as I haven't posted in a while so I emailed
you a response.

I have also suffered for almost two years from tremors thru out my body that feel like a motor is running constantly.

I am not sure if you have the same kind of tremeors, but I wanted you to know you are not alone.

My LLMD suggested Natural Calm a magnesium supplement you mix with water, it looks like alka seltzer. I think it helps a little but I really up the dose.

I can relate.Try magnesium.I use lorazapam(sparingly as possible),it is an addicting drug but lyme just wouldnt give my body a chance to rest so I use it to try to calm things down so I can heal.I hate to use it but you do what you have to do.

No one seems to mention the acidophilus anymore, is that a given or are some people not taking it?

My husband suffered very similar, practically identical symptoms as you do. He got to the point where he could not drive any longer. It was no fun!

He did not turn around permanently until he had all dental infections removed. You must also look for pesticides and chemical toxicity, viral overload, and heavy metals, esp. aluminum, and parasites. It could be almost any - my husband had all of them. Lyme often is just a part of the cause for these symptoms.

We treated all the above and my husband is now very much okay and doing very well, without any of these symptoms.

Experience has taught me, since I have become familiar with many patients that suffer these type of symptoms, that none of them get well unless all these environmental factors are also addressed. If you have a die-off of Lyme bacteria, or a die-off of anything due to being on abx, you will also spill the other infections and toxins (they are released with the cell die-off) and you need to have agents on board that are able to handle these other toxins and move them through and out of your system. If you don't, it turns into an ongoing merry-go-round while the stuff settles elsewhere in the body, kidney and liver suffer and the lymph system gets clogged. You need to find out what other infections you are harboring.

Try to think of any exposures you had over your lifetime - this might give you a clue what to look for. What's in your mouth? Do you still have your wisdome teeth, or if they were removed, were they removed properly (which is hardly ever the case -- just pulling them leaves a mess behind).

If you find someone that can do ART or muscle test, it is a lot easier to pin down the other culprits.

Don't give up - you can make it through this - but you need to put your thinking cap on. Lyme never exists alone in anybody.

Take care.
