We have tried everything to get it out.
Does anyone know any fancy methods for something like this?
We can see it and feel it but it is enlodged and swelling. Please reply ASAP. Thanks
Cindy

The only Doc open is medstat. We had a tic that was enlodged taken out of my daughters ear there once. We have a 40.00 co pay and the extraction was 100.00 bucks and ins. did not pay for some reason. Thats why I wanted to ask here first.
If you go to the Emergency Room, go armed with info to back up your request for the proper antibiotic.
You can send the tick to Igenex to be evaluated for Lyme Disease.

TICK TEST REQUEST FORM http://www.igenex.com/ticktest.htm
Hope this helps.

What back up info do I need? I believe that my son already has Lyme. He is being tested At the J Clinic on the 16th.
So there really is no other slick methods of getting this thing out?
I just need to go on and take him to the Dr.?
You can call your family doctor and see if he could see you first thing in the morning, or if you should go to the ER tonight. Or call the ER and talk to a nurse.
When I mentioned "back up info," I thought you'd have to request antibiotics to prevent the tick from infecting your son with Lyme bacteria.

I don't want it to get infected. My son forgot to even tell me about it. I found the note and the tic going through his book sack tonight. I would have taken him to the Dr already had I have known earlier.
I cleaned it with peroxide and smothered the site in antibiotic ointment. My copay at my Dr. is 20.00 and I have never had ins problems there. So hopefully it will pay for everything. I don't know why it didn't pay at medstat last time. I am gona take him first thing in the morning.
I hate these nasty things. Our tic season runs so long here. We are in the middle of the woods. We check our kids every night but we still pick A-LOT off of us every year.
She seemed to think that it would have been fine to leave it there and the body would work it out on its own though. I told her to get it out.
I mentioned something about Lyme and she said Lyme comes from bigger tics not the little ones. What do you guys think about that one? I don't know much on what tics have Lyme. i kinda thought any of them could have it actually.

The deer tick is small. It can be as tiny as the dot on this i.
On the left-hand side on this page, click on Pictures to see the ticks.

That's ONE of the dumbest duck statements I've ever heard!

oops!
Lymetutu
I said what is that supposed to mean. She said that it is not common that dogs get bit by deer tics. Huh!!!! I said we live in the middle of the woods. These dogs are coon hounds and if a dog is infected with Lyme and then gets bitten by dog tics then those dog tics are infected with Lyme and them they have babies and so on and so on....
She didn't have an answer for that.
See why my BP was 140/80 the last time I had to go to this Dr's office for a check up.
Just my two cents, but I read your post and thought it can't hurt to offer...he is teaching this to all his med interns, and I thought if nothing else it is another option for you if needed.
Take care and let us know how everything goes,
JavaBeing
PS Just a note to add to the Quack stack...I had a duck tell me I could 'possibly' of contacted lyme, not because of my symptoms..but because I was in the right age range!! (I'm a 43 yr old women..who knew we were the ONLY ones who got this nasty bit of nonsense!)
