After the sauna each day I am showering off and the rest of the day my skin is so flaky - I feel like I need to get in an oil bath to keep the dryness at bay.....anyone got any good ideas for the dry skin blues???

Like Olive Oil or???? I know lotion will just block my pores....

Thanks,

SIs

Hi SisterSue2,

I know Mo has her favorite coconut oil she orders on the web. She takes it by the spoonful all day for yeast; and, she rubs it on her skin.

She orders it from: http://www.tropicaltraditions.com/virgin_coconut_oil.htm

There is a lot of good information at the above site.

A big health food store should carry a good Coconut Oil----I found some in the food section of the store.

Also, you might try an aloe vera lotion from the health food store that lists aloe vera as its first ingredient.

I have a favorite, but you have to order it. Everybody in the house uses it for something or another.

I use to use this on my skin prior to applying DMSO sollution on my forehead for pain. It kept the skin from being irritated.

It also comes in a gel. A gave a bottle of the Aloe Vera Gel to my brother whose fingers were painfully split open & the next morning they were much better.

Anyway, the special stuff I like is:
"Miracle Aid Cream" by Aloe Master International. They use to sell it straight from Irving, TX, but now a website handles it.

It's found here: http://www.aloe-emporium.com/aloe-master.aspx

Their aloe vera juice is the real deal. It's tea-colored. I wish I could afford to drink it daily, but there's so much to always buy------can't do everything at once.

Taking fish oil capsules daily helps dry skin. I've always wanted to try Hyaluronic Acid capsules by Solaray to see if that would help my skin.

The skin on the back of my hands is like parchment paper. It's not pretty. I know it's due to LD. It has a name----can't remember.

Also, dry heels and skin are symptoms of low thyroid. And the tests aren't accurate. I've posted on here about that & so did Bambiland & Daystar. Theirs was the most informative.

Anyway, that's all I can think of at the moment.

Hope you're doing well.

Take Care,
Jan

I wonder if it's the ozone that does this? How standard is the sauna? I found the standard sauna really helpful for lyme. Is there a pile of hot rocks to pour a little water on raise the humidity? (be careful, raising the humidity raises the heat capacity of the air while transfering a tremendous amount of heat into the air. If you try this have a wet washcloth ready, to breath through. I would keep the temp below 180. The hotter it is the more careful you have to be. But getting a small amount of humidity in there might help with the dryness a little.
Adding ozone to all that heat sounds very powerful. Ozone is incredibly reactive. I would read alot and stay up on who's advising what. The ozone might be very good for babs, as well as lyme, but do be careful- there is some toxicity there. (Ozone is the epitome of an "oxidant", as opposed to an "anti-oxidant". But of course the right amount of toxicity will kill the bacteria and not be too damaging to you)
