About 2 years ago I found this wonderful site and met many wonderful people who helped me to learn and cope with my fight against Lyme Disease....thank you all!
During the last 2 years of non-stop heavy duty antibiotic therapy, I've endured herxes of all types ranging from emotional to physical, gone through many times of being sick and tired of being sick and tired, and have had times where I just wanna give up cause it was just too long and too hard of a road. Thanks to so many of you I kept going.
Recently (a few months ago) I tapered off my antibiotics as suggested by my LLMD and so far I'm doing just totally awesome!
During these two years I've gone from shopping in a wheelchair while on Demerol and alcohol which barely took the edge off the pain to recently achieving my white belt in Chinese Gungfu (which I'll be getting this Saturday). Of course I'll be going for my yellow belt next.
There really isn't much that I can't do now but I also know I have to keep good care of myself and pay attention to my body. If it tells me I'm tired, I have to listen. If it tells me I'm starting to stress, I have to deal with it immediately.
I'm going to continue eating right, doing suppliments according to my needs and detoxifying as much as possible as well as continuing to exercise.
Of course there's a chance that I could relapse, but I think that if I help my body to keep things under check, it'll help me to continue doing as well as I am.
To all of you who said I could get better.....you're right and thank you so much for your wise words of encouragement! To those of you who still doubt that, believe and never EVER give up!
I'll keep posting from time to time and helping where I can, but more than anything, I just wanted to share this to encourage more positive thinking because attitude is everything.
Merry Christmas and God bless you all!

Fantastic news - I am glad you're doing so well. And, thanks for coming back to share with those of us either at the beginning of this road or still on the road after a long time.
Do you mind sharing what protocol you have been following, or if no particular protocol, what abx you've been on since the beginning?
Thanks

As for the protocol I was given by my LLMD, I have been on 1,000mg of Tinidazole 2x's a day with Biaxin 500 mg 2x's a day for about 7 months.
Then we switched out the Biaxin for Ceftin while keeping the Tini going strong.
After about 6 months we swapped the Ceftin out for Biaxin XL 500mg 2x's a day while still keeping the Tini.
6 months later (19 months into it) we swapped out the Biaxin XL for Ketek 800mg a day while still keeping the Tini. Last October I started tapering off and have been off of them now altogether for about a month plus a bit.
Please keep in mind that my LLMD catered this protocol to my symptoms and that what works for me might not work for you and vice versa.
Also, I did the suppliments that Dr. Burrascano recommends as well as the diet he calls for and whenever I could exercise at all without it hurting (providing I was getting sleep at night) I would.
On top of that, I did homeopathic self help such as detoxifying as best I could, using hydrogen peroxide from time to time plus we built an infra red sauna. There's many things we can do to help ourselves and again, that needs to be catered to the individual's symptoms.
Yes, Mary, our LLMD is thrilled! Thanks for thinking of me btw, hoping you're making great progress too as well as everyone else here.
I spend a lot of time advocating for Lyme Disease and I always will. It's hard not to give back what I've been so graciously given by so many truly beautiful people, and I just want for everyone to be well again and to have a happy ending too!
Love to you all, Danette

That's what I've been doing since August. Moderate activities, except my Disneyland venture recently. I pooped out for couple days afterward. Also detoxing, supplements to boost my immune system, consuming organic products, and exercise doing yoga and pilate. It works. The reason why I'm so nuts about AKG Naturals is because they have been advising, educating, and guiding me through the process without using meds/drugs. All I know is my health improves and my symptoms decrease tremendously.
Kalie is wonderful and Andreas is very knowledgeable. EZ-E mentioned his accent seems to change. Psss...Andreas is European (German) so of course, his accents is strange not changed.
Hey, where is EZ-E lately? Maybe he's too tired to check in.
Danette, it's time for celebration!!!

- I really believe this to be the case too. I'm really glad you found a good product/company you feel good with that's working well for you. I think it's important to spend that extra buck or two and get good quality suppliments of which there are many good ones to choose from and to go as natural as possible in all we do with the guidance of one who is wise in these things.
I used to be a hard-core smoker who ate garbage on the run because I was so busy working my you-know-what off. Since I slowly made major changes in my life style (and they add up quicker than you think), I sure feel better too and even being off the antibiotics now (which was the only pharmacutical drug I used), I'm STILL noticing improvements, slight as they are but they're there.
Thank you all so much for your cheers and words of encouragement and I'll be watching for more success stories here!
Merry Christmas all!
Love Danette
