Well I just wanted to say that had I not found a LLMD to treat me here in Louisiana I would most probably not be here this Christmas to enjoy any of it!
I was so close to death in August when I saw my LLMD and he literally saved my life! I was placed on IV Rocephin and after 3 months of IV treatment I am well on my way to recovery and being able to look forward to a Merry Christmas! My doctor is talking about if I continue to improve like I am and with proper treatment I might be in remission by Easter!!!! I sent my LLMD a christmas card to say thanks for allowing me to enjoy the holidays!
I am on Zithromax and plaquenil and will start Flagyl at the first of the year! The only set back I have had in my treatment is a nice case of the shingles! Which I went to the ER because my family doctor was out of town. When the ER doctor found out I was on duragsic patches for pain because of Chronic lyme disease. He said "lyme disease doesn't cause that kind of pain" I just rolled my eyes at him and said treat me for the shingles and let me go! He did and after 7 days of valtrex 3 times a day and some cream I saw very little changes! I went to my LLMD and he gave me a shot of cortisone (which he didnt' want to do becuase of the cortisone lyme disease no good mix) but thought it was warrented at this time and boy was he right! I am doing so much better. I shocked him with my shingles because instead of spreading out to one side like most do mine started on my spine and went straight up my spine towards my head! I just told him I was wierd and did everything different! anyway just rattling but the shingles are doing better. My LLMD said that with my immune system being compromised with lyme treatment was one reason I got shingles. It was my first outbreak and I hope last!!!!
Anyway I just thank my LLMD for giving me a christmas to enjoy this year and encourage everyone to thank your LLMD in some way for what they have done for you over the year!
Oh and all the trouble I have had with my insurance over my IV treatment and not wanting to pay they are paying and not griping at all. I guess they are oiling the noisiest wheel first! I got my insuranc commissioner and my state representative to write a letter and then a lawyer and they shut up finally! I am relieved that I am not in dept for my treatment but would of paid it and fought with the insurance later because the treatment has worked so well!
