Hi Lymie gang,I gave myself shot 44 tonight.I am just an old hard a$$. That is 22 shots in each butt cheek,or 44 cc in each cheek. The original guidelines I am going with stated 6 months shots could possibly cure lyme or 48 shots. I only have 2 weeks left!! or 4 shots!!! Should I stop or go on with the shots after that???? people have been on bicillin for longer than 6 months, so why not?
plus you are only using a beta lactam drug, only extracelluar killing properties.
need some tini or flagyl dude, at the least.

Now, see, that's about how many shots I've gotten. And at first I could really tell the difference, but now not so much.
I haven't worsened, mind you. Just have leveled off, I believe, on what the Bicillin is going to do for me.
Zipzip: Please explain the thinking behind the extracellular thing. I would like to know what I'm talking about when I bring it up to my doc.
Any documentation would be great also, when you have the chance.

penicillin is an extracelluar drug, meaning it works on the outside of cells.
in contrast the macrolides (zithro, biaxin, ketek) work intracelluarly and on a different part of the cell.
this is important because the lyme spirochete can live both extracelluarly and intracelluarly.
it can also live in a cell wall deficeint or L-form. minocycline, tetracycline, etc is often used for this form.
lastly is the relatively newly discovered cyst form which can be "opened" up with azole abx (like metronidazole/flagyl or tinidazole), but not necessarily kill them. you still need the other abx to do the dirty work.
the last part is more hypothesis than 100% proven, whether cyst forms are killed by the flagyl type of abx or just expose them to the other abx.
i can get you some links, articles and stuff later... but reread dr.b's guidelines again. its mostly explained in there.

Hi, zipzip,I have tinidazole ,and am taking bactrim ,and artemisinin right now. I have cycled the tin in there at times,but not for awhile.Tabbytamer,I to seem to have leveled off now ,but am still very much better. MADDOG

have you done atovaquone ('malerone' or 'mepron')? (I think I recall you did but thats relying on ;eqipment' of questionable reliability...) Sounds like you're doing the right stuff, in general. It's hard to tell exactly when one should start the cyst busters. I had come to a point where I was feeling much better, (but of course I had alot of health-rebuilding to do), when I started tinidazole. I stayed on the clarithromycin the whole time I was taking tinadazole, and i was still taking artimesia and artimisinin, with a break every month or so. Garlic, too. I think garlic was very important. I took capsules of various forms of it, and just "choked it down raw" as much as I could manage. And gse and olive leaf extract, as well.- Though it wasn't entirely clear whether gse was doing much, it was likely enough that I kept taking them. Maddog & others, I was on the various oral abx for about a year and half. Then my body just wouldn't keep them down anymore. So we switched to the Bicillin inj. I've been about ten months on the inj. now.
Maddog, Is it possible to take enough garlic without, well, smelling like garlic?
I called my doc's office to make an appt. to discuss the options but they are closed until next week. But I do plan on going thru Dr. B's guidelines again so that my brain isn't running on empty when I see my doc.
So, you think I should continue with abx without a break? I feel like most of my symptoms now are from the abx. And I would think that stuff like the ear ringing, headaches, etc. are pretty permanent after effects of having Lyme so long. There is such as thing as too much abx. But it is so hard to know when to draw the line.

Hi Gang,Dave I did 3 months malerone,however it wasant long enuf. With the artemisinin,I am herxing terribly.I need to get back on the tinidazole real soon.Tabbytamer,I dont think the garlic can be efective without the bad breath. He He They allways let me know at work that they smell it. I need to get my rife machine going again. I got my new amp back from the warante repairs,little did they know what i did to it.They stated that the amp would automatically shut down before it got hurt. So it is their fault, it must have been a sales pitch thing. MADDOG P.S. I had the lights dimming in the house while rifing ,and it is a 200 amp service. He HE HE
