I have never been on IV Rocephen, but I am currently on Malarone/Zithromax and Plaquenil for Babesia.
So far the combos I am on are working very good for me. Besides the terrible herxing, I am getting better.
Good luck to you.
Good to "see" you here again. I have been wondering how you were doing.
My husband had 5 months of Rocephin IV. He did improve on it, but has crashed since going off it. He continued on orals after the IV was over, but something didn't work. He is now on Mepron for babesia - the other drug is malarone I think.
Because everyone is so different, can't really comment about any experiences other than be prepared for anything. You may not have any problem, or it could be a rough road. No real way to know. Are you starting both meds at the same time? Sometimes it is hard to do that. You can't tell what might be causing a problem if there is one. Maybe wait a week or two after the IV Rocephin before adding the malerone.
Be very careful with that arm that gets the PICC line. You must keep it very clean and can't lift with it. I know you have a small child, so that will take some adjustment for all of you.
Good luck and e-mail me if you are interested in attending the support group that I mentioned in my e-mail to you in the last couple months.

I'm not a Rocephin fan -- our experience was the same as Wizard's. I'm fairly sure it made things worse in the long run, but there was so much else going on (including steroids, this being back in the dark ages) that can't be certain.
Maybe if the coinfections had been treated back then it would have been a different story.
Dunno what you've been told. Most important thing is eating fat with the malarone and no CoQ, and the potential for gall bladder problems and the importance of gall bladder/liver flushes with the rocephin .Also that Rocephin seems to be one of the big players in driving Bb into cyst form, which then has to be treated. Good articles about this on Canlyme and on this board.

I noticed yesterday that the bulls-eye rash is back again same side just lower than the original, is this normal?.. I just stopped the ceftin and Biaxin due to the start of the IV and was wondering if that had anything to do with it. I took pictures of it and I almost want to send a nasty letter along with the photo's to all the Dr's that told me I was a head case...
Kind Regards
