It eventually feels better but always coems back.
2 weeks ago I switched to Tetracycline and wondered if this be causing my problem?

It's scary when this happens; I often think I'm going to choke!
I think the pressure of the food in the throat may trigger it.

I get this also, not consistently though. It is like the throat gets "lazy" and doesn't want to swallow properly. At times I've always had to have water nearby when eating or I'd choke on my food.
I do get this still, but not so much with food, but my vitamins ALWAYS get stuck now, sort of just below my throat and I have to wash them down hard with about 2 pints of water.
Perhaps it's nerve-related. I know it can be scary at times, but I think quite a few of us get this sort of thing.

Everyone who has ever felt this way needs to have their thyroid checked.
Heck, everyone should have their thyroid checked every year.
One in five women have thyroid disease--half are undiagnosed. One in ten americans have thyroid disease and men are much more likely to have thyroid cancer--although thyroid cancer is rare (but my sister had it). Being German, Scotch or Cherokee increases your chances as does receiving radiation treatments. (In the 50's and 60's you would be radiated at the dentist, dermatologist, heck they would even take x-rays at buster brown before messuring your feet!
Also, the body is trying to fight off the lyme and it gets confussed and attacks itself--attacks the thyroid. The thyroid then enlarges (goiter) and grows nodules that are also putting out hormones--this is where the cancer will grow--in the big nodules.
It's a simple test but many doctors don't want to test for it. It took me 20 years to be tested and I was classic having gone hyper in my youth and really hypo after having babies. I kept saying my sister had thyroid cancer--they wouldn't listen.
the average woman sees 10 docotrs before she is diagnosed.
This disease isn't as contiversal as lyme--but it is controversal--because doctors don't learn about it in school--it is considered a "woman's" disease. But my husband with lyme has it.

Don't let your doctor just run a TSH (thyroid stymulating hormone) test.
Also have your t3 and t4 tested. If a doctor will not test or give t3 medicine then find another doc. You need more t4 but the t3 is very important.
Choking during or after eating is a sign as is:
fatigue
depression
inability to lose weight
cold intolerance
consistant below normal temperature
dry skin, hair
mental fog
...and a lot more!
Ya'll getting the connection?
My sister told the doctor as a teenager that she felt like she had a ribbon tied around her neck.He laughed himself silly. Hashimotos (the autoimmune that most people with thyroid disese have) is a disease of teenage girls.
Hope that helps,

Neural Therapy into the area (takes less than a minute) works wonders, and you will start "spitting the stuff" out.
Picturesque, but true - our experience. We had it done lots of times - barely felt when done by an experienced practitioner.
Take care.
