Good morning (hah, hah)

I am so confused. Started mepron, clindy (per J. clinic) for one month. Felt a little better. Waited proper time (one week) started mino, clindy, artemsinin. Had to stop for a week because of a death in the family. Then Started mino at one a day to ramp up slowly, along with clindy and seemed to tolerate it so far, but still have hidious vertigo but not floor dropping jerking you around by the devil's hands vertigo. Thought Hooray maybe I am finally on my way!!

Yesterday, took a fairly good sized dose of nystatin, to treat yeast which is bothering me. Several hours later herxed so badly I could barely stand up. Skipped my mino last night because I was so sick.

What the hell is going on. why is the herx for yeast the same as the herx for lyme. Why are they exactly the same. Does it mean that nystatin and other yeast killing drugs (which always give me terrible vertigo) kill lyme or does it mean that herxing when taking the antibioics is because the yeast is out of control?

Yeast was my first symptom of lyme. In the beginning cutting out all sugar and carbs, plus yeast treatment took care of it or kept it under control.

yet later before lyme diagnosis, took diflucan, nystatin, strick diet (lost 15 pounds) and felt better but vertigo, although far better, did not go away.

Feel horrible and not making much sense. I know there was some discussion about diflucan couple weeks ago

Does an antifungal like nystatin or diflucan kill lyme also? My first big herx was from oil of oregeno which ended me up in the ER

Or

Are the antibiotics, which promote the yeast, cause you to feel so horrible. I know toxins and toxins. I do coffee enemas and saunas plus gallons of detox tea and water and thought that was one reason I was handling the mino. But then the huge herx from nystatin happened yesterday. I just do not understand why the herxes are exactly the same.

So sick for so long and losing hope that I will ever be "out there" again.

Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Lymelady

I wish I had kept the email- I could be of more help.

There was a study I believe in Germany that showed treatment with antifungals greatly reduced and sometimes cured neurological Lyme. Or was it psychiatric? Anyhoo- it was treatment for 25 days with 200mg.

I am on day 27 of 200 mg of Diflucan a day. I have to say my vertigo and brainfog have improved significantly. I have felt this good before and relapsed, so I hate to get too excited. I am by no means cured, but my point is you could very well be herxing.

Can anyone help me with the specifics of that study??

I can't comment on the study, but I've been on diflucan for almost the entire time I've been on abx (over two years) as a precaution. First 100 mg daily, and then 200 (probably for the last year?). I never noticed a difference (reaction to the drug, decrease in lyme symptoms, etc.) while on it or when I changed dosage. That could be because yeast never had a chance to take hold in me, so I didn't get a yeast fixing boost.
