Hey guys,
haven't posted in a while; mainly because i started a new job, but also because I feel like a new person. Just wanted to let you guys know that. I ran 4 MILES last week.....a little background; i was undiagnosed for almost five years. I've received about 18 months of antibiotics; the last four months i've been on bicillin and it's literally changed my life....best treatment for me so far..there is hope...i'm praying for everyone.

Hi,

I'm so glad for you and thanks for coming and sharing how well you're doing.....I am literally going in 5 minutes to get my next Bicillin jab. Have only had 7 so far, so no positive change from it yet that I've noticed.

At what point (after how many shots) would you say you saw a difference?

Do you do your own injections?

hey dll,
it took about three months before i really started feeling a difference...i have a nurse friend do them, but she taught me how to do them in case there are days I can't...how much are you getting/week?

Hi,

I am doing 1,200.000 mu, three times a week.

The GP's nurse was doing them for me, but the last 3 I've done on my own IN HER office. I am not ready to do them and be on my own yet, in case something happened.

I still get terribly anxious about the shots..Not the needles themselves, but getting it into a vein accidentally and not seeing any blood in needle, etc. I guess with time this will get less and less.

I'm not feeling a difference yet. Have had a few "funny turns" on it, which usually pass in a few hours. And, I think on two days so far I did get very achy and herxy feeling with bad fatigue. Other than that just a little more tired than usual perhaps.

I have been on Biaxin and Mepron since July, and am seeing a bit of a difference. So, over all I am confident things are going the right way.

This got a bit long. Sorry.

Guys,
Great news. I am very happy for you.
Tell us more details: what doses, how often, how long. What other treatment you took at about the same time.

no worries; i take 2.4 mu's per week, both on monday (two shots). i'm supposed to start pulsing biaxin soon, so we'll see how that goes....i still feel kind of crappy wed/thurs, but not horrible like I used to feel. i just hope it lasts.

Hey lifewithlyme,
Can you be very specific about your treatment. I am new to Lyme and I don't have a Lyme specialist to treat me in my province.
My doctor doesn't know much.

Could you describe in good details how much of what and when. I also don't know much about pulsing.

Areneli,
I get 2 injections of 1.2 million units bicillin every monday night. Pulsing is when you take antibiotics a couple of days a week; some say its more effective with treating lyme. So i'll start taking Biaxin saturday and sundays, the day before my injections.

Hi,

Can someone tell me if doing the three shots in two lots rather than evenly spaced 3 times a week increases side effects or severity of herxes? (For example, two shots on a Monday and one on Tuesday........or two on a Monday and one on Friday, etc) - instead of what I'm doing now, one each Mon/Wed/Fri.

Hey lwl
I love reading these success storie. Im in Ct too and have been receiving tretment since May. Still not much of a change. Just changed to doxy last month and think I finally did have a herx for about 5 day about 2 weeks after.

I see Dr. K in orange and I did have the vaccine so Im not a typical case. Can I ask you what Dr treated you. Just want to put it in my file in case I feel the need to see someone different down the line.

In the mean time I just keep trying to make the most I can of each day. Often making my lunch is the major triumph of the day but I cherish it.

So glad to hear you are going to work. The work never sounds so attractive until you are denied the choice. Go get em girl!!!!!!!
