I have been feeling a little better and want to exercise but am unsure of what is okay.
Dr. Burrascano says no aerobics. What exactly do you think he means by that. Like light skipping or dancing for instance is that aerobics or does he mean the 20 minute workout where you busting your heart out and sweating like crazy.
Like would Jazz dancing be okay. It is great for gaining strength, balance and coordination. There is mild heart elevation and mild sweating and can be mild or vigorious. Would this be okay. Lots are joints are getting moved almost everyone.
What have others done? I know Dr. B recommends strength training and then gym based exercise, but other than weights - what does this mean? I have a treadmill but he says that walking is not enough but can be used to warm up and gaining strength with resistance is good.
Any advice?
Thanks

My thinking : No precipitous, rapid moves requiring a rapid change of direction and/or large forces in/on joints.
18 months(an avg.?) is the time for a full recovery for a healthy person who is a runner, and has sprained an ankle. Check with the NYC Road Runner's Club for a statistic on recovery timelines for various kinds of joint, tendon, and ligamentous injuries.
