I was just reading that the flare-up cycle is typically four weeks. Is this true, or in your experience can it vary just like all the other symptoms.

My son has been having painful flare-ups that were 11 days apart. In between flare-ups he seemed fine.

His flare ups have now increased in frequency to every 4-6 days (and more severe).

Off antibiotics, my symptoms flare starting about 2-3 before my period and settle down to baseline about 10 days later. On antibiotics, this cycle is superimposed on a downward decline of ever increasing symptoms. I don't improve until I am done with the antibiotics. I stay on until I can't take it anymore.

I'm sorry the cycle of my flares does't apply to your son, but it seems that they are quite individual. I hope he feels a bit better soon.

Currently I hardly notice any cycles. But in my earlier stages it was almost exactly 4 weeks. I have done some planning knowing ahead of time when I would feel better and be more capable of doing certain things.

My daughter is almost 11 and she gets flare-ups all the time. She just started back on abx treatment last month and she seems to get a herx or flare every 4-6 days right now, but feels better than before going back on meds on the "in-between" herx's. Did that make sense?

From the beginning, my flareup cycle has been every 48 hours (every other day).

I also have babesia and have wondered if this cycle connects more to that than the lyme. Alhough, unlike malaria (supposedly) babesia periodicity does not flare every 48 hours. Although there are many similarities between malaria and babs.

While the docs do not have an answer for me on this one; it greatly puzzles me and makes me wonder if I have something else along with lyme and babs.

No one else seems to have this pattern I have discovered so far. Or do you? If so please write me or contact me if you have any information about it.

Thanks,
Lymelady

Ive been told to look out for my "bad week" and really I havent found it yet. It seems to be the either the first or last week of the month. Typically I feel pretty decent these days yet I can still tell the disease is still there. Does that make any sense? My friends and family are sick of hearing- wow this happened today- must be the LD! Everyone wants me to shut up at this point.
