I didn't wait for a test, and just started taking artemisinin. When I started to herx, I told my LLMD and she added on mepron.

Also, I found that saventaro, a form of TOA-free cat's claw, had a powerful effect. I thought it was helping with Lyme, but in fact, it was affecting a hidden case of bart, because cat's claw is related to the quinolone family of abx.

Thanks. My LDoc said if ya don't have night sweats, ya problably don't have Babs. He also said normal abx treat the other co- infections??

Igenex also has a good page on testing. For their babs page, go to http://igenex.com/tickset1.htm For their other coinfection tests, click on Tick-Borne diseases in the left hand margin. Please remember that all the tests are problematic and not definitive.

My husband's night sweats were heavy and obvious, but mine were more difficult to discern-not very heavy, and on-and-off. Actually, I thought it was perimenopause (from the age of 32 on) and didn't pay much attention. Like Liz, I did the artemesinin and when I responded strongly to it, treated for babs. What a difference that's made.

I have no idea what your doc means by "normal abx." Or what dosage or length of tx time he'd consider normal, since the non-LL community seems to find most of the abx prescribed by LLMDs to be abnormal. No non-LLMD would have prescribed the abx we were on, but they were very effective against babs and then bart.

Not all coinfections have been identified, nor can you assume they're all bacteria. There are tick-borne viruses. Due to my experiences with Babs, I would recommend that if you test neg on traditional Babs tests, you consider having the Igenex FISH test. This apparently tests for a different strain of Babs. Some have referred you to the Igenex site, and that is an excellent resource.

Bowen seems great, now if my Lyme Doc will order it? I also gotta pay cash for everything, I have no insurance, & Don't qualify for medicare or medicaid..... This sure is fun...NOT!!
