Hi. I do have lyme, but i am concerned as to what the different bands mean. I know there was a lot of postings a few months ago but cant find it, or the mind and hands wont work. Specifically, band 31. Does anyone know?

This is straight from the mouth of my children's lyme pediatrician, Dr. Jones. I found this in my notes of our first visit. I wrote it down because he remarked on my daughter's positive band 31.

"Since she has a positive on band 31 of the western blot she is genetically predisposed to autoimmune problems with lyme. Band 34 can also indicate this."

She also is positive on one of the other tests he did (HLA-Dsomething something) which can also indicate this.

Thank you. I had four positives on band 31 which my doctor stated it might have meant i have had it for a long time. Anybody else know about this?

Hi and WELCOME! Get a LLMD or at least Dr that is willing to learn about lyme. Borrelia Burgdorferi is a clinical diagnosis, based on symptoms and on your response to treatment. Good Luck, bumpy road ahead.
