i have a question - haven't started abx yet, but am really sick. have an appt with dr c in a few days.

my stomach is already messed up pre-abx - diarrhea, yeast, etc - not sure what's caused by lyme and what's other stuff- will i be able to tolerate orals? i don't have the money for IV, so i really hope i can deal with orals.

thanks for any thoughts.

Since you have an appointment with Dr. C in a few days, you should make a list of all your questions.

My kids see Dr. C. I always bring a list of current meds, symptoms and any questions.

Hey heiwalove,

I had stomach problems for a long time before I was ever treated for lyme. It could be yeast lyme or both.

I hope it clears up for you soon, let us know how the appointment goes.

I had stomach problems too pre lyme treatment. They actually cleared up after I started the antibiotics.

My stomach (bowel) problems cleared up after 20 years of problems on treatment. Actually before taking meds, my holistic doc put me on supplements to get rid of heaving metals (copper mostly) and a super yeast problem. My bowels began to get much better. Also coffee and nystatin enemas helped also.

I had had some big problems and had a severe bout of colitis at one time many years ago from which I never really recovered. Had a million tests (tv up your butt) and they could never find anything wrong.

My holistic doc ordered a stool sample lab test and they found "lots of yeast" even before I started meds. And I don't even eat sugar or high carbs, haven't for three years.

Yeast overgrowth was one of my early symptoms of lyme, although I did not know it.
Could not get rid of it no matter what I did. Supplements and a "really" strict diet would help but never eliminated it.

I believe lyme treatment must be a combination of both alternative and conventional treatment. My holistic doctor has been a main support for me thoughout this terible ordeal.
