I am doing real good in EVERY area except the pain one! I was wondering if there is a certain co-infection that causes the most leg and body pain? Is there and antibiotic that helps the most with clearing the pain?
I have went through 13 weeks of IV rocephin via picc line (which I believed saved my life) and have been on zithromax and plaquinil for about 3 months and am in my first month of flagyl at 750 mg.
The brain fog, fatigue and other symptoms have cleared up except for herx occassions, Being treated for lyme disease has also cleared up what my doctor's thought was graves disease and my moods have leveled out a lot (I am bipolar).
Being treated for lyme has straightened a lot of me out but nothing seems to be hitting the pain part? There are so many co infections and with the pain I have hard time sitting for long enough times to look through them. Is there a co-infection I should look at that would help the pain situation? I was diagnosed late stage arthritic lyme because it effects my joints. I also have osteo arthritis in my spine and most of my joints to an extreme measure for my age 35.
I wonder if there is something I should look for with lyme disease and co-infections for the pain or with the arthritis issue I am just stuck with it for the rest of my life?
Anyone have a certain abx that really helped them with their pain issue? Any co-infection that really links to the pain issues?
Thanks,
Stacie

Hi Stacie,
I don't think I can help you with your specific questions, but I'm sure others here can.
However, our LLMD just changed my son's pain meds, as he was experiencing extreme pain as well. He's been given a Duragesic patch [50mg] which is good for three days at a time, and Percocet 325mg every four hours as needed for spiking pain. It hasn't alleviated the pain, but it's cut it considerably, so it's tolerable.
Good luck !

Hi Stacie,

I'm so sorry you are in pain, that stinks.
For joint pain, doxy and Mino helped me alot. It took a while for things to start getting better though, I had to go through a lot of herxes.

I hope you find something that helps.

hi thanks for the replys,

NP40- I am on the duragesic patch 25 mcg at this time with percocets for BT pain. I was hoping I could find something that would fix the pain so I didn't need the pain medicine anymore.

Beverly- I can't take doxy that is the first drug I tried before seeing my LLMD and I puked for 3 weeks when taking it. I haven't tried the Mino before but I have heard that if you have lupus not to take it and I have been diagnosed with lupus also.

david- I havd deep pain mucsle, joint and soft tissue pain. The soft tissue and joint pain is the worst at this time.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Stacie
