I was only in there for about 20-30mins and i felt horrible. Eyes got all screwy, shortness of breath, glands got all funny, it was really weird.
It took about another 30mins afterward to feel any better. I dont know but it must have been the lights or something.
Just thought I'd share.

I'm kind of a crafty gal by nature, and altho the creative part of me loves to go to the huge arts & crafts stores...there's part of me that gets dizzy & nauseous, as if I'm being over-stimulated or something.
Never could figure it out.
Now I'm too tired to craft anything, so I guess it doesn't really matter.

All joking asside, it is likely the binder that they use in the manmade panels. These are made out of saw dust/paper waste and pressed together with some tye of glue (suspect that it is urethane). The panels will outgas when they are new and release the funny new furniture smell.
Some people get really sick from it.. like almost die.
I get a skin irritation in the dog food section of the pet store, similarly I get very sick where there is dust and mice.
Furniture stores are OK though, except for the high priced ones.

If your autonomic nervous system has lost the ability to control the uptake of these odors, lights, sounds, etc., we feel ill. I had all of these reactions at one time. Until you get better, you need to avoid these places and not breath in more of the toxins. They act as any other neurotoxin.
I would also suggest to never wear a piece of new clothing without washing it first! Whether socks, or bras, or panties, anything; as well as the outer clothing. Don't put your children into those clothing without laundering first.
It is sad - but we are literally bathing in that stuff - no matter what store we go in. It amazes me how the sales people can handle this stuff day-in and day-out.
Take care.
