If you are doing nothing more than levaing it out on the counter in a holder to dry. Better get a new one every day.

You need to either keep the toothbrush in a antibacterial solution or invest in something like the Germ Terminator which is an autoclave for tooth brushes, Bathrooms are just about the worse place in a house for harboring bacteria.

Just don't use any chemicals for your toothbrush. Use saline. You can make it from Real Salt. No bug will grow in it -not in a hundred years. It is sterile. Do a search here on how to make it. I posted it. Be sure to scrape your tongue with a teaspoon or a tongue scaper first thing in the morning. Watch what is hanging on your spoon. Rinse it off with hot water and do it several times. Whatever is clinging to your tongue in the AM, takes off going downward into your body doing its thing all over again. That includes other parasites, etc. It's normal to living, but when you have Lyme they proliferate.

Use xylitol spray - I make my own. Use Xylitol candy. Xylitol wipes out many bacteria - at least 200 of them. I posted about it. Do a search here on Xylitol.

Do the Karack Oil treatment - I posted it here too - several times. With all these, you can eliminate quite a few of these bugs.

Take care.

Fly:

I change my toothbrush the first of each month. In between I rinse it every time I brush with listerine or hydrogen peroxide or tea tree oil, whatever is available at the time.

My mom runs hers through the dishwasher and then rinses it or, she boils it with a little Clorox in the water. I think it is easier to just buy a bunch of them.

What Gigi says about the saline makes sense. Just rinse it off before brushing. I use a homemade saline solution to keep my sinuses and eyes clean.

I am not so sure about the Xylitol. I have read opposing viewpoints on this. My nutritionist says not to take it internally because it is a sugar alcohol which might not be best for those of us with Lyme or Candida. I don't know for sure, so I avoid it.

What really works well to get the ick off your tongue is a diluted Clorox solution. It tastes awful (don't swallow!) but does work.

so is keeping candida in check as easy as being vigilant about scraping that crap off your tongue? somehow I got it in my head that is only a symptom of something that is already going on internally - but sounds like scraping it really helps cut it all down?

thank you for all of the advice!!

I dip my toothbrush in a 50% solution of clorax and water and then pour some H2O2 over it...over the sink. It bubbles clean. Then I rinse it really well (!) under running water.

This should "do in" most pathogens.

Likely the salt solution would work too. Remember our grannys telling us to gargle with salt water when we had a sore throat?

Note: if yeast is a problem. After you wash your underpants and while they are still damp out of the washing machine, put them in your microwave for 2 minutes, full power. The heat from the dryer is not strong enough to kill yeast. The microwave will. Then put them in your dryer. This should prevent reinfecting yourself. This was told to my sis by her LLMD.

Marnie, not to ask a gross question, but, if you use panty liners every single minute of every day (literally) is this as necessary? I even sleep with them.
