You wouldn't think I'd jump for joy over a dang cold, but I haven't had one for 21 years. I'd actually lost my sneeze reflex the past 3 years. The cold, etc. must mean my immune system is revving up?

Me too .... my first cold in five years!

I'm also thinking it may be a good thing?

I've always thought it was odd I could be so sick, but never "get" sick!

I'll be anxious to hear what happens with you next, Biting Back.

Ok, this is strange post. You guys are happy to have a cold?!?!?! Well, I am happy for you too then.

It is funny, I get every cold that every 6 year old brings to me. My MD says that means my immune system is working at some level because the cold runs the normal course of feeling sh.....ty, then the post nasal drip & sore throat with swollen glands, then the congestion and it all moves right into my chest & I end up with Bronchitis and lasts forever - 3 to 4 weeks.

I have not had one of those whopper colds since I started abx. I now get a normal cold that passes in about a week. I had forgotten that a cold doesn't flatten most healthy people.

So, enjoy your colds and I'll toast a cup of Nyquil to both of you.

We are weird LOL. I get all excited when I get sick too.

I have successfully had strep throat twice, and pneumonia ( yep) once since being sick and it did NOT flare my lyme symptoms. Ok, I lied.. the pneumonia gave me REALLY BAD neuro symptoms for two days.

It means we are winning and the keets are losing. Sometimes*

There is a product called Sambucol that you can find at your health food store that is supposed* to cut the flu and cold down by like half.

Maybe it will help you out a bit if you need to take something?

OK, so I've heard this too. But can't quite understand it.
When you have cold symptoms, it means your immune system working because the cold is trying to expell the virus?

So those of us who haven't gotten a cold in a while, our immune system is not working, so the virus is just sitting there, and our body is not trying to expell it?

What does the virus do when it's sitting inside us and we're suffering the effects of the cold?

Do I have it right? Wish I had a cold too

My son has one right now too...I'm glad his immune system is working also. I don't completley understand it either though?? Maybe one of the smarter people can explain it to us??

Hope you will be feeling better soon.
