My skin is so dry it's almost scaly. (I know, how attractive!!) I feel like I've aged 10 years in the last 2.

I've been on antibiotics for years.

Thyroids testing normal, although a lot of my symptoms feel like they could be thyroid related.

Do you think the skin issues could be candidiasis Or does Lyme cause skin issues too.

Thanks for your time

Lyme causes skin issues too.

Infections: Bacteria, viruses and fungi are common causes of skin rashes.
Infestations: Some skin rashes are caused by tiny parasites such as lice and mites.
Irritants: Abrasion (clothes, diapers, etc.), heat or sun exposure, cosmetics, an overly dry environment.
Allergies and Reactions: Insect bites or stings, plants like poison ivy, certain foods, chemical pollutants, medications, chemicals found in household cleaners - and many others.
Systemic Illnesses: Skin rashes may be one of the symptoms of a primary disease like rheumatic fever, Lupus or (((((Lyme disease.)))))

Eczema
Swelling of the outer skin of unknown cause. In the early stage it may be itchy, red, have small blisters, and be swollen, and weeping. Later it becomes crusted, scaly, and thickened.

Are you getting enough oil in your diet.

After I added cod liver geltabs for omega 3 my dry skin left. I mean left! I hardly ever moisterize any more and only take the cod liver tabs a couple of times week because my face got too oily.

I've been on abx for years too.

Just my experience.

I hope it is this easy for you.

Thanks for your advice. I just added fish oil and epa to my supplement list!

I've taken the fish oil in the past but dropped it because I was always burping up fish!

Which is worse tasting fish all day or being "scaly" like one!!

Thanks again

some abx give me extremely dry/cracking skin.

especially tetracycline.

maybe try switching abx and see if it goes away (i had good luck with biaxin/plaquenil as far as skin goes), and maybe ask DR to add nystatin for possible yeast.

i also take probiotics, and try switching brands from time to time.

recently i have been liking the products from kirkman labs.

Yeah, I abruptly aged, too. I honestly think it's from lack of exercise, though, and that we'll look much better when we can move around again.

Some other supplements you might want to try are CoQ10 and phosphatidylcholine for energy and "inner glow."

You might look into growth hormone deficiency....or possibly other hormone deficiencies also.

Check into Wilson's syndrome too.

Do you take MSM? might help

the oil supplements should help
