I just noticed my 8 year old has a white coated tongue. Stools are fine.
This is the first time in 1 year of abx that either child has had trouble with yeast. Has Dr. J. ever prescribed Diflucan to any of your kids, or is it just for adults? I have taken Diflucan and liked it very much.
Thanks!

Still hoping others might know what/if Dr. Jones has ever given Diflucan. Im not planning to self-treat him. I hope to get through to Dr. J.s office tomorrow but I don't want to bother the office if someone has been told Diflucan is not for kids.
She says my daughter is already on too much at the moment and that the meds she is on should eventually help with it..Also one of her meds has to be monitored due to the liver and that she didn't want to complicate with another one at the same time..
It was enough for me,but my daughter isn't happy..Good luck..lymemomtooo

Lyddie, I'm starting to lean towards just going to our local pediatrician for some Nystatin...I didnt know you could have it in liquid swishing form. Sound like what he could use. Thanks much
Leslie
I have successfully beaten it in myself and my kids using Virgin Cold Pressed Cococnut oil (must be good quality cuz its alive..)
and once a day yogurt smoothies with acidophilus scoop and psyllium husk/plain husks and not too much, banana, plus back strap molasses for nutrients..
(to replenish good flora)..and we try and follow a low sugar/yeast diet.
The Coconut oil has worked for us..but we used it medicinally, taking doses each day.
I take about five tblsps now (was taking more, I had systemic Candida, found in blood, and chronic white toungue) and the kids take about four tblss a day.
Doflucan did not work for me, and is hard on the liver.
You can put it in the smoothie if they like it, or just melt it (I keep a small glass jar aopart fom the big one and put it in a bowl of warm water and it melts quickly) and have them take the liquid off the spoon and wash it down with some diluted juice.
This oils is beneficial in allot more ways, but very effective also on Candida and intestinal health. it's also a great immune system "food".
