Well, i gues I'm finally going to start back up on another abx. I stopped IV rocephin 5 weeks ago.
My doctor has given me Omnicef, and we'll talk about it in a couple weeks. So, I've never heard of this one before, I guess it's either new or uncommon ? Does anyone have any experience with this one ?
I'm just starting to get some fitfull sleep, and the candida, of course is still around. I'm worried for flare ups of these, and of possible bad nuerological herxing. I'll still be on Diflucan daily. And Wenchol, and all the various supplements.
Also, It seems that magnesium shouldnt be used with this. And, that of course is in every supplement etc.. that I am supposed to take. I'm not sure how to space all of this stuff out.

Omnicef was my favorite antibiotic. I got the most improvement with the least herxing while on it. I took it for ten months, sometimes with other meds as well.
I always took any magnesium or calcium supplements two hours after the antibiotics. Lunchtime is easy if you take your antibiotics twice a day.
I hope you have an easy time on the Omnicef. It's nice to get a break once in a while.

I loved it. I took it with biaxin for 4 months. It really helped me to get rid of my frozen, stiff neck.

I took it with Ketek. This combo really wiped me out.

Omnicef is great, just take liver enzyme lowering herbs so your doc does not have to interrupt treatment to get them down. Also, ketek and omnicef will smash Lyme.

I have never tried it, but it is used for a wide variety of gram positive and gram negative bacteria.
DO NOT TAKE WITH AN ANTACID(there should be a warning on the bottle)!!
Iron will decrease the absorbancy rate..so be sure and check your vitamins.

My husband takes Omnicef right now.It has been the drug that got him over the "hump". He always takes his magnesium malate, but 2 hours later. They are discussing taking him off medicines this spring, hes doing so well.Good luck !

My son took Omnicief. It worked great for him. He is now on Zithro and Amoxy..but the Omnicief did help his symptoms a great deal.
